    Dez Bryant ejected from mall

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant was ejected from an upscale Dallas shopping mall and given a criminal trespass warning from off-duty police officers Saturday after a dispute over the sagging pants worn by him and some companions.

A Tuesday police statement says Bryant and three companions were involved in an incident at NorthPark Center where security asked them to pull their pants up because their underwear was showing.

Bryant, however, told ESPNDallas.com his pants were up but some of his friends' pants were down.

"It really wasn't me in the wrong," Bryant said Tuesday. "It's not even an issue."

The Dallas Police Department said in a statement that Bryant and his friends were not in violation of a law, but that he was issued the warning for not complying with a police request.

According to the police report, Bryant used profanity and created a commotion when confronted, prompting the officers to escort the four from the mall.

"What the [expletive], you stopped me like I stole something," Bryant was quoted as saying, according to the police report.

Police say Bryant refused to leave, however, until his attorney and representative could arrive and he parked in a fire lane until a friend arrived and persuaded him to leave.

No charge was filed. Bryant's agent, Eugene Parker, declined to comment. The Cowboys did not respond to requests for comment.

WFAA-TV in Dallas reported Bryant was banned from the mall for three months.

Late Tuesday, however, Bryant tweeted: "Headed to North Park tomorrow to get these Lebrons....I am not banned from North park lol."

Bryant's adviser, David Wells, said, "That's not true. I was there; it didn't happen."

Bryant has a history of problems at the mall, according to the police report, including an incident at a store where police had to intervene after the wide receiver cut in line and a parking citation for parking in the fire lane. Bryant was also involved in a "major disturbance" at one of the mall's restaurants with an unknown woman. Police were called, but both Bryant and the woman were gone before they arrived.

"I told the guy I'm not trying to get in trouble," Bryant said. "I'm not trying to destroy my image. The [warning] wasn't toward me. I was trying to figure out what was going on. It was a big misunderstanding. I was the wrong guy."
It takes a special kind of person to have "a history of problems at the mall".

You know the old saying: You can take the black man out of the ghetto, but you can't take the black man out of the black man.

    That's how it goes, right?

Just another in a long line of reasons why I'd never draft a WR in the first round.

funniest part of this isn't even the "history at the mall", it's the sagging pants. Not even brothas sag their pants anymore, unless you're the type of brotha who wears a wife beater and sells crack somewhere in the south

I would rather have a player that has had a few problems at a local mall then one who has problems with hookers and blow.

Deion Sanders, who stopped mentoring Dez Bryant months ago, strongly criticized the Dallas Cowboys receiver in reaction to the criminal trespass warning given to Bryant over the weekend at a Dallas mall.

"I'm upset but not surprised whatsoever," Sanders said Friday morning on the Ben & Skin Show on ESPN 103.3 FM in Dallas.

Sanders described Bryant's behavior at NorthPark Center on Saturday as "ignorant." The 2010 first-round pick was issued the warning after an off-duty police officer requested that Bryant and his friends pull up their pants because their underwear was showing and Bryant responded with repeated profanity, according to the police report.

Bryant He needs help. He needs help. I told the Cowboys from Day One that he needs help. Matter of fact, they have a team in place to help him. But you cannot tell a grown man what to do.
” -- Hall of Famer Deion Sanders
    on Cowboys WR Dez Bryant

"He needs help. He needs help," Sanders said, citing issues stemming from Bryant's difficult childhood. "I told the Cowboys from Day 1 that he needs help. Matter of fact, they have a team in place to help him. But you cannot tell a grown man what to do."

Sanders, who was recently elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame and serves as a mentor to many NFL players, said he ended his relationship with Bryant over the summer due to the receiver's dishonesty.

Bryant did not immediately respond to a text message from ESPNDallas.com.

The NCAA suspended Bryant in September 2009 for the rest of that season for lying about having lunch with Sanders. No other rules violations were found, but Sanders said it bothered him that he took a lot of the blame for Bryant's lie.

However, Sanders said the relationship continued until he became concerned that Bryant could negatively influence children in Sanders' youth program. Sanders added that he felt like he could not help Bryant.

"I don't have a problem with you lying to me. That's one thing," Sanders said. "But when you lie to yourself as a man, you have a serious problem and that's where this kid is. And I can't condone it. I really can't. It tarnishes everything else I'm trying to develop in these kids [in his youth program]. I can't allow you to poison other kids that I'm trying to mentor and take to another level."

Sanders praised the effort of Bryant's adviser David Wells, whom Sanders has had a relationship with since playing for the Cowboys in the 1990s. But Sanders made it clear that he has no intention of being involved in Bryant's life again.

"I haven't spoken to the kid," Sanders said. "I have no desire to speak to the kid. In regards to me, I can forgive, but I can't forget. You can't tarnish the other things that I have going on and the other kids. It's sort of like I can't allow something to poison the fruit of many other kids. I can't do it, so I cut off those ties a long time ago."

The worst thing that can happen to Bryant is to not have football keeping him somewhat in line. Cowboys will be lucky if this is the worst he does between now and whenever these assholes reach an agreement and start football activities again.

It seems like over the last few years the NFL is trying to up an awesome game and league. Everything they do is a slap in the fans face and it's getting hard to stomach.

He has the body of an Olympic sprinter, the athleticism of a NBA superstar and the mind of a small, delinquent child. I'll be honest, though, I don't care if he smokes crack rocks on the sidelines and robs gas stations to feed his drug habits, as long as he scores TD's on Sundays. No one ever said Cowboys=class.

All of you who poke fun at Dez Bryant now, be warned - we'll see who has the last laugh when he makes it to the HOF. Dez is gonna call out all you armchair quarterbacks when he is finally enshrined. Snobbery from law-abiding les like you is what motivated Dez's mother when she tirelessly worked the back alleys, and it is what motivates Dez in his fight against unfair, racist mall rules.

90210, mardigan, kamikazi_player - tell these trolls what it means to wear The Star. Dez Bryant wears The Star with pride and that's all that matters - who cares how low he wears his pants. He will deliver a Superbowl to the greatest owner/GM in pro sports, just you wait!
