man he got caught runnin away and that was it
Probly 10-10... depends how the judges look at it... they could see it 10-9 for Davis for being aggressive and going for the TD's and landing kicks and knees... or reward Nog for his TD defense and counter shots he landed.
it was. and it was fun to watch, but he kept getting caught running away
nice job
30-27 seems fine. The first round was close but you could easily give it to Davis.
Phil Davis didn't look too hot though. That stretch at the end of the 2nd was good, but otherwise I thought he looked very awkward on the ground.
I think Davis was bothered by injuries more than usual. He definately didn't look as strong or fast as I expected, and part of that was due to Lil Nog having great TD defense. Davis managed to switch to single leg, sure enough Lil Nog had much less success defending that because they prolly spent more time on the double-leg. Davis definately passed this test tho, his striking has improved and I think with a better camp (not on late notice like this one) he can be ready for the Machida/Coutre or Bader/Ortiz winner.
I thought it was great that Hardy came out with Big Country, but they obviously weren't working on wrestling/grappling. Hardy is looking like a can crusher compared to elite compe ion.
Was I the only one pissed at the Hardy/Johnson fight? 2 guys who are known for brawling more than any other fighters in the UFC and after 100% of his UFC wins being ko, suddenly Johnson decides to use his wrestling? ing coward move IMO. With that said, Hardy's a ing dumbass for not improving his wrestling since GSP.
I know this is all sour grapes considering I'm a huge Hardy fan and was expecting an absolute throw down
Coward move? WTF? Yeah - its all sour grapes. Johnson obviously improved his ground game and was smart as in this fight. I didn't think it was boring at all.
You weren't the only one pissed though. The arena was filled with people like you.
I know it's all sour grapes, I wasn't asking, stain. And you comparing me to the meatheads at the events that boo at the first sign of wrestling. My favorite fighters are Fitch, Hughes, and Hendo. I just found it ironic that Anthony "Rumble" Johnson didn't want to rumble at all, and conveniently in a fight with a fellow striker. Even though I didn't say it in my last post I'll go ahead and say that considering he spent like 90% of his time on the ground in half guard or full guard never advancing, it was boring.

Very good night of fights..
UFC needs to start putting on more high quality free cards like this since the PPV prices are insane these days..
3-1 for me.. Picking Garcia was dumb. He never fights well..
Davis won the fight but the "He can challenge Jones" talk needs to stop for a while. His wrestling and striking is not where it needs to be..
Hardy might be done with the UFC after that. Fights like that make you feel he was incredbly underserving of that le shot he got. His TDD isn't just bad, it's non-existant.
bit of an understatement. That would be a massacre. After last night I can think of a handful of LHWs I'd pick over Davis
I think he plays it safe and holds back a bit..
I would like to see Bader vs. Davis honestly. For me, Bader looked better throughout the match against Nog than Davis did. Bader wasn't afraid of getting in there and swinging, where Davis was obviously a little "scared" per say...
I'd like to see Davis/Griffin. That seems to be an appropriate next step.
