He's played well in big games in his other leagues. He's been benched all year and now in limited minutes, he still produces and doesn't play like hes scared to make a mistake. You can also tell he would like to get the ball more down low but just simply doesn't get fed. I would say he's a pretty confident guy. He's no
    Bonner that's for sure.

Splitter is a strange character. DNP's seem to boost his confidence but if Marc Gasol scores on him he'll be shattered. I fear he might return to Europe, Spanoulis style, if this were to happen.

    Thanks Bud!

I don't understand where this association of tiago and fragility came from. sure, there's been times when he looked out of sync. but that's to be expected considering the cir stances. he's hardly fragile, though. in fact, he's played fearless since filling in for Tim.

YOU KNOW WHAT I AM ING PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS writer is an IDIOT if he is covering for the Spurs.

How can Gary Neal get court time in the 4th quarter against Charlotte, in correct me if I am wrong, in game 4 of the season I think it was and Splitter can't get any this season when he played at a pretty high level in Europe?

The more I think about it, this is a ing JOKE what the Spurs are doing with Splitter.

    MORONS.

Seriously, I don't know. It's because Bonner spreads the floor, I guess. But it's a lose-lose situation to put Bonner in positions where he just has to fail (as witnessed once again yesterday against M. Gasol) while at the same time Tiago, sitting on the bench, has to wonder what he has to do in order to see the court in the fourth quarter.

To ElNono's question: I don't think that Splitter's confidence is that fragile. I guess he is smart enough to understand that missing training camp and the pre-season was a big setback for him at the beginning of his time in San Antonio.

His confidence didn't look fragile when he was taking it to the Grizzlies in the first quarter. It would have been nice to see him get more minutes in the second half.

Splitter didn't look too fragile when he held Aldridge to his career low against the Spurs. I swear that guy averages 35 points a game on 60% shooting against the Spurs over the last three years.

Splitter has the awesome distinction of being open all the god damned time and Parker and Hill not even seeing him. I mean seriously PICK AND ROLL... for 's sake. When the big man is streaking toward the basket and there is no one but him down there, why the are you dribbling around and passing it to Bonner on the wing?

Splitter is fine, he will do great next year. But he is ed this year, Blair and Bonner are the only hope we have. Which isn't ing much based on these past few games.

But when Timmy comes back, if we hold on to HCA we should be fine.

What's the guy supposed to think when their best big is out and the coach won't play him in close games?

    How would you feel?

I don't buy the confidence argument. It seems Pop & Co has never ever tried to incorporate Splitter into the team's offense & defense system such that putting him into 4th quarter would risk the team's collapse when the game gets more and more intense. And the Splitter poor FT also doesn't help either. Yet, Bonner's failure poses more damages to the team in my opinion.

Your question should have been "How fragile is Splitter when it comes to Pop playing him"?
