Basically, if you have any interest in maximizing the remainder of Dirk's career, then you'd be very dumb not to trade Roddy for Manu.

Tbh, rememba det one time Allanon used the arrows argument to say Lebron's supporting cast in Cleveland was better than Kobe's . It went something like this:

    Shaq > Bynum
Varejao = Gasol (because of defense!)
    Artest > Anthony Parker
    Mo Williams > Fisher
Cleveland has two arrows while LA only has one. Lebron's supporting cast is better.

Those damn arrow arguments. I remember that. These laker fans still argue about CLE's supporting cast to knock Bron. My favorite is the "they clearly lost so much more than just Lebron....that's why they suck now"

Dirk. aldridge has been really good this year but this is his FIRST ALL-star caliber season yet he STILL missed the cut. Dirk has been having one of the greatest shooting seasons in recent NBA history and has hit over 70 FT's in a row. If he doesnt get hurt he is in the NBA MVP convo maybe just right after rose alongside Lebron and Dwight ...

Thank you. I was the one who initially brought up the argument of Roddy for Manu, I believe it was with the poster Shank.

I do see the argument you made on if you're building for the future and have given up on this current season, then you keep Roddy.

In turn I expect my own vindication when the Spurs are bricking 3's, LAL is dominating in the paint, and capt. proactiv has splitter wearing warm-ups in the 4th.

Aldridge easily for most teams in the league. Dirk's game has already started to fall off a bit, and will most likely free-fall within a couple of years like that of every other elite big man aside from Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone. Nowitzki would only make sense for a veteran team that's close and is in "Win Now or Bust" mode.
This depends, are we talking these players in their prime?

If not I would definitely say Aldridge, Dirk is still the better player yes but he is at the point of the downside of his career where as Aldrigde still has his prime to go.

    Both players are beasts though.
Dirk is having a career-year shooting-wise so how can you say he is on the downside?

Maybe because of the injury to his knee this year? He turned it on the last games and will be good come PO-time.

He sure does not have the lifts anymore he had earlier, but his offensive game just gets better!

Dirk is a Top3 to Top5 MVP Kandidat, before his knee injury late december a clear Top3.

    What a decline....

LMA is a borderline allstar in the west that didnt make the cut

Maybe check out who is beside him playing.

    Chandler/Haywood
    Marion
    Kidd

The zone is killing the defensive rebouding but Dirk is also regular season coasting in terms of rebounding. Watch him tune it up for the playoffs. He still owns most of the PF in playoff rebounding average
