More injury news: Tony Parker (strained patella) and Antonio McDyess (bruised back) also won't play vs Portland.

    now even tougher....

    JMcDonald_SAEN Jeff McDonald
Your streak-stopping starters: Hill, Anderson, Jefferson, Bonner, Splitter.

    JMcDonald_SAEN Jeff McDonald
Pop framed McDyess' absence as precautionary. Hopeful Parker could return for Boston, but not certain.

Small correction: Tony Parker's patella is bruised, not strained.

Pop let the media vote on who should start at 2. Let the record show, Gary Neal carried the day. We were overruled. Spurs not a democracy.

Upshot: If Spurs end losing streak tonight, down 4 starters on the second night on b2b vs. team that owns them, it will be greatest W ever.

Pop absolutely HAS to be tanking this game. Thinking it was a long shot with Manu and TD out I sure hope he's just tanking it...

So if the starters are Hill, Anderson, RJ, Bonner, and Splitter....that leaves Quinn, Blair, Neal, Novak, and Green? on the bench....

...Popovich said the decision was made considering with an idea to providing extra rest and not aggravating exisiting injuries.

“Money time is approaching with the playoffs,” Popovich said.

Let them rest 3 days and come back strong vs Boston and down the stretch. Could be a good plan if the guys regain energy or could be a costly decision. Only time will tell.

So far, the only Duncan mention.

...Duncan is progressing from his ankle sprain, but still is not ready to play.

Is Pop cutting his losses right now resting Tony and McDyess? Sacrificing the 1 seed and just coasting until Tim gets back?
