For bookie it is situation where all in for Blazzers, but I dont have enough balls to bet against Spurs. Neal, Hill or even y could go crazy tonight.

...Popovich said the decision was made considering with an idea to providing extra rest and not aggravating exisiting injuries.

“Money time is approaching with the playoffs,” Popovich said.

Even the much-derided Bonner shoots lights out now and again.

Its gonna be weird when in the 4th with the Spurs playing 4 on 5 since they refuse to play Splitter during the 4th.

I'm actually really excited for tonight's game. Will be fun to see RJ have a chance to finally shine. Also will probably see Tiago get 35+ minutes.

    Good. Zero expectations.

Perhaps they will get lucky and the Blazers will play down to their level.

Let's see if Portland sits their starters.... Nate doesn't need another injured starter.

He's in by at least a game and a half, he should relax and cruise to the playoffs.

    How are injuries Pop's fault?

I don't like it one bit either, but the fact remains: having healthy players come playoff time is more important than having the first seed.

Sure, it would be a damn shame to lose it, all things being considered, but it would do us no good if the team is run into the ground to get it.

Resting the players may be a gamble, but I think the right call if they are hurt. Playoffs are right around the corner, and this is where that cushion, while quickly evaporating, is so important.

    Something a bit better.

From what I've heard, if these were the playoffs, Duncan would be taped up and playing right now.

Some would think we are damn fortunate to have any games to cushion us in the event of injury, nevermind having 4 or 5 games to the 2nd seed.

Plenty of teams play a little banged up. If the guys aren't injured, they should play. IMO the first seed is THAT important.

I said after the last Portland game that they should've rested Tony and Manu and put all their eggs in this Monday game basket. Oh well.
