I don't live in the ghetto ... there are asshole kids at every school, regardless of income level or race.

thats correct but you specifically said your son was being picked on because he is a big white boy in a minority majority school. therefore, you designated race as an issue.

maybe if your son went to a school where being white was not a rarity, he would encounter less problems and have a better educational experience.

Haha. Little got owned. Too bad the initial victim got suspended. Another example of ****ing political correctness in the form of punishing the retaliator.

As a white guy who was in JISD, I would say that SW's son is taking the correct approach. On my first day of junior high (7th grade) a fight broke out between a white guy and a hispanic guy. It was a pretty even fight, but then the white guy landed a good punch. As the tide turned and it was clear the hispanic guy was going to lose, 10 other guys jumped in on the side of the hispanic guy and the fight was effectively over. Also Lonny, I am not sure if you are from SA, but there aren't really many (if any) schools that could be described the way you did in your post. Maybe Johnson, but it is expensive to live up there. Obviously it is not that big of a deal since SW's son seems to be smart and knows how to handle himself.

I've actually asked him if it was because he acted like a .

He said no ... he's just a big white boy in a predominantly hispanic & black school, and that it happens with all the bigger guys. The little runts like Ritchard thinking they are all kinds of tough because they don't think they'll get a response. Fortunately, my son thinks they are all "re ed" and knows he could hurt them pretty badly if he wanted to. And he could ... that's that I know. There's also been a huge overall fighting problem at that school for the last couple of years, and I can't wait until next year when he's out of there.

It's a tough situation as a mother ... you don't want your son to be a big pussy, but you don't want him to get hurt/in serious trouble ... or seriously injure someone else, either.
Yeah, definitely a tough situation. Ideally you'd want your son to come out like a trill OG like Casey did when he slaughtered that little , but I get the feel from your description that it could be dangerous for him to try to react and whoop the out of one of the kids. In a situation like this where it seems like he's in the minority and race is playing an issue, those ers would not surrender and would always try to get the last hit in, and if they were a year or two older, or even perhaps your son's age, it's scary what the consequences could be if he tries to do something about it. Stupid young people are constantly killing eachother over race. Smart thing as you've hinted at is probably to just ride it out until next year.

Fortunately, my son didn't have to do anything to one of the little ers. The boy got busted starting a fire in one of the bathrooms of their brand new building and has been expelled ... and is currently sitting in juvi.
    how typical

At least it should bring some comfort to your son that those bags are going nowhere fast, will likely not go to college or if they do, most certainly will never graduate. Perhaps due to their stupidity and rebellious minority at udes, they'll all end up dead in a dumpster somewhere, just where they belong.

I honestly can't remember any fights happening because of racism during my time at Judson (4th-9th grade), and believe me there were a lot of fights. For the most part I would say the JISD area is one of the best parts of SA simply because of how integrated everyone is in the community, regardless of race. Football, basketball, baseball, band, choir, etc. all have a very diverse demographic and people get along. You're going to have your thugs everywhere, I moved from SA to Tucson for the rest of HS and saw more racism and bullying in an upper class 90% white student body in 2 years than I had ever seen during 5 years at JISD. Maybe it's because kids that have everything feel like they have to prove something to themselves and everyone else that they're still tough, regardless of their suburban upbringing, I don't know. But it was my experience that upper class schools are far worse when it comes to the social aspect of school

When my sister went to Kirby (5 years before me) girls had their hair set on fire if it was red on a regular basis. Not quite racisim, but really similar. There were a lot of racial undertones when I went, but as a nerd who was friends with all of the "sports stars" who were in the advanced classes. So I was able to wander between my world and theirs pretty easily. Before that, I went to Converse Elementary from 4th-6th (St. Monica's before that) and at Converse I got into fights with a far greater number of white people than anyone else. In fact I can only remember 1 fight with a non-white person there. Oddly enough the first time in my life that I got the paddle was the second day after I transferred from Catholic school.

Edit: Oh and I got into fights far more frequently at St. Monicas than at any other school.

Everyone seemed to get along pretty well, maybe it's because a lot of people stuck together from elementary all the way through HS. Some of us played football, some were in band, a lot of times both. I went to Spring Meadows-Woodlake-Judson and never had any serious problems. I'm sure at one point everyone in life is bullied somehow

You went after me, that may have been a slight difference. I went when the only two Jr. Highs were Kirby and Kitty Hawk. We had something like 3k students as a Jr. High!

It's possible that all of this played into the difference in student actions.

My daughter is a sop re at Judson, and says that even in the brand new campus there are fights there at least every other day. About what, I have no idea. But the majority are still between girls, so most likely it's over boys.

Like I said there were always fights, especially when I went there were 5000 students in 2002. You're bound to have problems with that many kids, somebody is going to piss someone off eventually. The school I went to here in Tucson would have a fight once a week MAYBE and I think that's because most of the people attending were almost all identical in backgrounds. When someone looks/talks/acts/ like you, listens to the same music, lives in the same neighborhood, dates the same people and enjoys the exact same activities as you there won't be many physical altercations just a lot of gossip. I prefer the fighting to the gossip and games any day

The Ritchard kid's got a trashy mini mullet goin.

The little is such a liar. Yeah, I'm sure Casey hit you first then waited getting hit 5 times before doing anything else. I will say that there's way too much overreacting against him though. Everyone just needs to take it easy. He's just one of a billion pricks, and he got his ass kicked for the entire world to see. Justice has definitely been done

I feel pretty bad for Gale's dad tbh. There's no doubt that his son's actions were pre-meditated and his friends were going to videotape the bullying but it back fired. His son is a goof that's lucky he's not in a wheelchair after that awesome piledriver.

What Casey did resonates alot with my youthfull days.... I was put in "corrective classes" because I fought back in my elementary and middle school days. Not bragging or anything, I was a bully in middle school at times and Im ashamed of it, but it was a direct reaction to the way I was treated. I probably weighed all of 90 pounds until highschool, but I never backed down.

Hopefully Casey doesnt turn into that little asshole... I know I did for a few years after finally standing up to my bullies and I regret it. The last fight I got into was with a kid named Sean in Highschool.... I know he was a football player but I dont remember what position.. He was going around shaking hands with people then stabbing them in the arm with a needle melted into the tip of a BIC pen....

He did it to me and I grabbed him and slammed his face into the hallway lockers 7 times before we could be broken up. I was suspended for 7 days, he was expelled. I thought the football team was going to kick my ass when I got back, I was ing scared, but apparently he was a to them too so they gave me props.

DAMN, that was actually an awesome full mount in mma style! Too bad he was throwing 5 yr old punches, but obviously he's not the fighting type. TBH I wanted to punch the cameraman at the beginning more than I wanted to punch the fat kid
