Survey of polls show public siding with Wisconsin protesters
    February 22nd, 2011 6:03 pm ET .

The polling community is finally starting to catch up with what has become the biggest story in politics over the last week. Tens of thousands of protesters have come out in Madison, Wisconsin to express opposition to Governor Walker's anti-union bill. Gov. Walker has claimed the bill is necessary to balance the budget, and refused to take out the provisions which strip the public employees' unions of their collective bargaining rights. Many believed the public would side with Walker, since the favorability ratings of unions has gone down over the last three decades. However, a sampling of the major polls shows that most are actually siding with the protesters in Wisconsin.

The best poll on the issue may come from USA Today/Gallup. That poll, with a sampling of over 1,000 Americans, found that 61% of people oppose a law in their state similar to the one Walker is proposing in Wisconsin. Just 33% were in favor of a similar law. Another poll commissioned by the AFL/CIO, but conducted by an independent firm, found that 62% of Wisconsin voters view the public employees favorably, compared to just 11% who have an unfavorable view. In comparison, just 39% of Wisconsin voters now have a favorable view of Walker, compared to 49% who have an unfavorable view. Finally, the poll found 52% of Wisconsin voters oppose Governor Walker's plan while 42% favor it...

you are one dishonest piece of jackie.. I'd save a piece of crap before I ever pulled your dumbass out of a burning building...

As you both know, poll "results" on both sides can be easily manipulated based on how the questions are phrased.

I understand you are ing stupid. I understand I googled something you could have easily done yourself and posted the very first one I saw. I understand you can do this but won't because you are ing stupid. So I do this for you and what do I get, post more jackie. Go yourself loser.

You tell us genius, why on earth do you think people, the majority of people don't support Walker and this bill? Come on you lazy , tell us why. Is it because Maddows told you they don't support it. Is it because Barry said so. Tell us why you think most people don't support this bill? And why you are at it......I will ask you yet again:

"If a businesses fail to comply, the letter says, “Failure to do so will leave us no choice but (to) do a public boycott of your business. And sorry, neutral means 'no' to those who work for the largest employer in the area and are union members."

    Do you support this?

    You dont? Why not?

Theyre a private organization who is publicly employed. The choices they make about who and what to boycott is there decision.

Now, with that said, and just as Spurm mentioned earlier, this is an incredibly dumb tactic.

But whats wrong with letting someone gather enough rope to hang themselves?

    The rub?

Ain't no way to boycott the "company" public union members work for, or the members themselves. Unless someone like Walker does what he did, they are untouchable.

No way to do a for tat.

They have too much power; as FDR et. al. warned they would.

Private sector (taxpaying sector) wages have been flat for how long?

Public unions getting 3% + regardless.

Here in Pa, STARTING salaries for elementary school teachers are $57,000 - with a great benefit and retirement package to boot (and the new CBA gives them 3% raises guaranteed each year for the next 4). The state spends as much on RETIRED public teachers as it does on higher education in total. Average salary for teachers in the district at the end of the CBA? $90,000!!!! For nine-months work. Two teachers now a $180,000 household, with summers/x-mas/spring break off? Damn.

The public may be in support of them (kind of) now, but that will end, as their over-reaching demagoguery continues and amplifies. As facts such as I just posted get out there an become public knowledge? When the cop makes 1/3rd what his kids kindergarten teacher makes? s gonna hit the fan.

No I don't. It's blackmail. These supporters, like george and many others on this site will ignore this story and continue to support them no matter what.

The teachers of Wisconsin are paid well and have great benifits because of the tax payers, the same tax payers they want to blackmail. The leaders of this union are extremly irresponsible and should have some of their collective bargaining strip from them. Taking thier cry wolf fight to the street, blackmailing businesses to agree with them is yet another example why this bill was passed.

EDIT. George, If a building was burning and I was in it along with some , you would pick up the instead of me and run out the building? LOL
