I don't care if you have won four championships, you have to adapt!

    Blair and Bonner?
    No Tiago?
    Too many threes.
    Gonna Lose home court.
NO WAY we can beat the Lakers in a seven game series. Anybody that thinks otherwise grow up!

Matt Bonner?! I mean seriously! Matt Bonner! Is it me or do teams laughs at him? It seems everybody just attacks when he is guarding him.

Whats the point? We are going to have a difficult first round and then get eliminated by the Oklahoma City with Perkins.

Should have had Tiago from the beginning POP. Just like you fucckked up with Louis Scola you fucckked up again stooge.

    SIZE SIZE SIZE SIZE SIZE

when have we ever won without size? POP YOU ASSHOLE! YOU KILL ROOKIES JUST LIKE YOUR TEACHER LARRY BROWN. If it wasn't for Duncan being the best power forward of all time you would be back in military school.

He did the same thing with Finley, overplaying him way past his prime.

I also think and I know TIMVP also does that Bruce Bowen had a lot more left in him when POP stopped playing him.

I also know for a fact that RC Buford is furious that POP does not play Tiago. Trust me on that.

It is not also a coincidence that all these horrible losses have come ever since the Blair / Bonner combo started. I really think Pop is lost.

.. I can just smile and think about how the spurs will be eliminated in the second round. Hopefully I'm wrong. If we don't win this year, spurs fans we have to wait many many years before the spurs get to kiss the larry o'brien trophy .. Please GOD give this year to us..

Thanks Hooks, this is just sad and a waste. We put in all this work. I mean it is obvious to everybody that bonner will clunk every three with a man in his face in the playoffs.

Start Blair with Duncan for the energy, and he also plays great with Duncan. What was the point of playing them together for 80% of the season POP if you aren't going to do it anymore?

Then bring in Mcdysse and Splitter altering them at times to play with DUNCAN.

Use BONNER only for a spark when down and in need of some three's. If he is HOT leave him in.

POP you ed up. We won with DUNCAN and ROBINSON in the paint twice. Then we won with Nazr having a great run with HORRY a winner spreading the floor yet playing really smart defense and taking over games. Then we won with a smart and talented playoff run with OBERTO.

wake up POP these are all bigs.

SIZE SIZE SIZE SIZE SIZE SIZE SIZE

Listen to RC, POP. He battled that hard to bring him here for a reason. You messed up once with LOUIS SCOLA don't do it again, you still have some time. Splitter is that good for our system.

its ok to be wrong Pop. Forget the contract you told RC to give to Bonner.

It's ok you sent Bowen to early retirement.

It's ok you killed us with Finely.

Hey Pop, just because guys do whatever you say in practice and kiss your ass and are your dogs does not mean you play them till you kill the team. Wake up POP, Robinson is retired, and Horry isn't here to save you in a game 5 again.

Hey Pop you know what else you forgot! The Lakers aren't in limbo like those years.

I am watching a Lakers game right now Pop they have, Bynum, Gasol and Lamar Odom in at the same time. Hey are you going to respond with Bonner? You military ass kissing loser. Your pride is killing us.

Yes I'm ranting but I have to say something.

2 years ago I met somebody from the front office. I mean somebody powerful in the front office. I learned many things, and that is why these things I have been ranting about make me sick.

All you have to know is that Spurs players do read these posts, that is the power of this board, and that management also reads them.

The same issues we are complaining about with Bonner, Bowen and Finley in the past, also has been issues between POP and others in management. When he got off to this blistering start it was the worst thing that ever happened as the stagnation left Bonner in and Splitter out.

Pop never wanted Scola and he hears about it everyday.

size and defense has been a consistent problem all year. this is nothing new. spurs had a good run but the playoffs is all about rebounding and defense. those who have followed the spurs all season know that the spurs lack these two and already know the spurs are doomed in the playoffs against the lakers (if they make it that far).

Over the summer, many here laughed and celebrated when the Spurs allowed Ian to walk, but I'm going to say the obvious, right here, right now: I'd rather have Ian on this team than Bonner. I said it then, and I'm going to say it now. At least, Ian could run, defend and rebound. , he could've provided some occasional garbage buckets, post defense AND he was an 80%+ FT shooter, which are all a different variation of skill sets that the Spurs have too little of now. They have enough 3-pt shooters, where Bonner could've been deemed expendable. Instead, Pop opted to go with the red-headed, regular-season choker and toss away the only young big, on the roster at that time.

What good does it do to have a floor-spacing, stretch-4 on the court, if he can't hit shots and can't defend? Teams are literally seeking him out and attacking on defense. As another comes to a close, once again we're all reminded as to how Bonner's regular season value (whatever it is) diminishes as the playoffs get closer. Pop seems to ignore this every year.

I'm sick of people trying to defend that red-headed, mental midget. What else needs to be seen? Bonner is now outdoing even himself: he's now choking as the regular season comes to an end. At least, he's in playoff form mow.

What the Spurs are missing is help along the frontline. This is all on Pop for developing a roster of declining and inferior defensive players, all in the name of ramping up the offense, with 3-pt shooters. Essentially, Pop chose Bonner over Ian this past summer. Now, he's choosing Bonner over Splitter. How's that working out?

Ian was no world-beater, and may never be more than an average big, but I'll always believe he could've been more productive than the big red-head is now. There, I said it. If you want to call that a meltdown, fine.

FWIW, I have friends that are Mavs fans and they tell me that they cannot believe that the Spurs simply let the guy walk.

What did the team gain in the offseason other than Pop's ok to step up the offense? It's gotten us to this position, where, instead of struggling to get into the playoffs, we are near the end of regular season and talking about losing 1st seed. I'll take that over last year. Had we signed a couple 18 million a year guys with hoopla and all that, or had we actually won the previous 2 years, I would be concerned. Right now I am really pleased that Tim's final years won't be in obscurity.

it's amazing looking at this situation through this p.o.v., #1 seed in the league and there's a meltdown of epic proportions going on.

Meltdown or not Pop let Ian go I can vouch for that. The only reason he loves Bonner is cause he is Pop's stooge during practice. He does all the annoying dog stuff any ass kisser would do. Bonner is a and Pop loves that . Did anybody try harder than Finley in those final days? NO It was the same ass kissing feeding Pop's i'm your coach I dont care what you say military tactics kicking in again.

Pop is a military man and demands respect even if it kills the team in the end.

Pop doesn't know how to develop players that's why he always prefers a vet and doesn't give rookies a chance to prove what they can do. He has the talent sitting on the bench and plays Bonner becuase he has corporate knowledge

Please don't confuse actual realizations with meltdowns.
Please explain to me this one question if anybody can. I want everybody to try and answer this truthfully.

    Forget Splitter for a second.

Why would Pop play Blair with Duncan, Manu, and Parker for 85% of the year and stop it now right before the playoffs?! Duncan and Blair made a big deal about finally learning there spots, Manu loved setting Blair up in the paint, and Parker was finally setting up the pick and roll with Blair. All to stop this right before the playoffs and put blair in the second unit with Hill, Bonner and Neal?! WTF is that! how is that a meltdown but rather a perplexing problem here?

Other than high draft picks, what team has actually developed more obscure players than the Spurs, into champions, into all stars?

You certainly don't hear the Lakers calling Kobe, Shannon Brown and Luke Walton the "big 3".

Because he hasn't the courage of his convictions, no matter how wrong-headed they've proven to be.
