The defense was much better in the 2nd half. 44 pts given up. Spurs beat themselves down the stretch once again tonight. There were so many empty possessions were we could have gone up for 4, 5 , 6 pts with little time left to end this thing but kept turning it over and taking terrible shots. Things that we have not been doing this season.

First time in a long while I feel like watching the Spurs is a waste of time.

For real.. I've been telling myself that I am done watching the spurs the rest of the season but I'm too big of a fan to give up on them. Said the same thing right when they lost tonight but I'm sure I will watch next game.

That image of Pop screaming for an intentional foul is permanently etched in my memory. He had to bend over and catch his breath from screaming so hard lol. And nobody could hear him. It didn't even seem like the crowd was all that loud.

Not sure of that.
Imo he was drawing the last play with 3 seconds left.
He was angry after the foul.

They are stupid but not so much to no make a foul in 14 seconds

The spurs defense looked great late in the 4th. They were running around trying hard not to give the rockets an open shot. They should have played that way all game.

I don't think RJ is as bad as you think but otherwise I agree. What I don't like the most is how DUMB the team is playing right now though.

Are you kidding me? RJ is a complete loser. There is no nice way of putting it. He went from being a complete ghost to someone who actually hurts the Spurs more often than not.

This isn't a slump. He had one ridiculous month and he has consistently declined since to the point he is an absolute liability. That doesn't mean he doesn't have good moments or the occasional good game. It means that overall, he is the most disappointing Spur ever (from what was expected and the lack of impact).

Well, they weren't quite as good as they seemed, but they kept winning at a torrid pace. Now, they are probably not as bad as they seem, but they are losing in the worst ways possible.

Manu is out of gas. RJ is terrible and Pop's decisions are very questionable. The rotation is jacked due to the style of play and the defense is really bad.

Agree with everything except the comment that they weren't as good as they looked. For long stretches they were playing gorgeous basketball offensively, and even put together some nice defensive stretches. We had amazing chemistry for most of the year.

All year long, Pop had Splitter sit on the bench because he didn't have enough experience.

Now Pop's afraid to play him, because he sat on the bench all year. Unfreakingbelievable.

It's like the chicken and the egg, only Pop has used the chicken to smash the egg and now the Universe has collapsed due to the paradox.

Ruff, I agree the Spurs were playing amazing, but they weren't as good as their record indicated. I know winning a lot is fun, but there were pretty clear signs that the team was winning more than they should. Their style of play wasn't conducive to the amount of wins they were getting. They were also getting everything to go their way, just like how now, everything is going against them.
