Bowen went against Pop that is why he went to doghouse. Bonner does whatever Pop says, Pop loves that as he runs the team like its the military.
For a while, I thought SpursTalk was scapegoating Bonner.
At this point, I am thoroughly convinced this guy really is that bad.
He must hit like 80% of his threes in practice because, at this point, I really don't know what's keeping him on the floor. And that's even considering the fact that he is still the league's top three point shooter.
Matt Bonner's amazing stat line tonight: 0-5 FG, 0-5 3PT attempts, and 1 big giant vagina that he is carrying around....
It's not even worth thinking about... because you'll never find the answer.
I do think his contract plays a larger role. The Spurs had him in the system, saw his failures (and what they liked about him) and gave him a contract after the fact. They have a vested interest in forcing him minutes because they made the call on him. They paid him well and they will go down with him.

At this point, I don't care how many 3 pt shots he makes at practice, at shootaround, or in the actual game. He brings nothing to defense/rebounding...and teams are putting up 30 pt quarters on us like it was NOTHING. I admit it's not just Bonner, but that's the most obvious place to start because NO NBA TEAM has respect for him and constantly attack his candy ass on all areas of the court.

Actually I think I might be on to something... Pop knows Bonner's confidence is at an all time low... and we know that he doesn't give a about the regular season or seeding. His goal is to keep putting him in high pressure situations hoping that he's going to learn to thrive in them so that he will be useful in the playoffs. But he'll never be able to do that. Pop just refuses to see it.
