They are tanking so they don't become the new Mavericks by losing a first round series when you are seeded #1...Because a first round exit is looming..
Tanking is a risky, poor strategy and I am 90% sure the spurs are not engaging in it.

They are not tanking on purpose. There have been numerous opportunities in past seasons where the Spurs should have done so and did not. Seeing as how Pop is not smart enough to fix incorrect decisions of the past, I do not think he is starting now.

I am not sure if they are tanking or not but if they are, that is the strategy for the organization. As you know the chance to success (In any battle) is slim without any strategy, if they think tanking to 2nd has a better chance, then they should follow it. By the end of the playoff, if Spurs takes the championship home, everyone will talk about how great the strategy is for next decades. Some times you have to do what is the "Best" instead of showing off what they capable of at the moment for a great success.
Naw, it's just been a perfect storm. Duncan goes down we lose a couple, Parker's turnover in the last minute of the game we lose, Manu gets hurt we lose, Pop decides to sit out all our starters we lose, we run into a desperate Celtic team we lose, and then an errant pass in the last minute of the Houston game and we lose again. Need to wipe all this under the rug and get back our swagger quick! Our 3 point shooting has gone to too. Team needs to quit reflecting on whats just transpired and go out and play Spurs ball. Manu wake the up! Get that edge back quick es or it's gonna be a long summer...
That is not going to happen anytime soon. Playing Spurs ball would require them to play big, play defense and rebound.

Tanking just doesn't seem like a good idea in any way. Why in the heck would anyone want to play the Mavs and the Lakers if you didn't have to? I hate the Mavs but I don't want to see them es if I don't have to.
