It was a family member that did that , making it even worse. Then he escapes during punishment while the little girl collapses before her lashings are finished.

All religions are exploited by men to oppress women into inferior status.

It's self-righteously pleasing to be outraged by "Muslims" murdering rape victims or a Pakistani village gang-raping a girl to punish her for having sex outside of marriage, but Salem's "Christians" loved killing witches, etc, etc.
and the U.S. once had slavery, therefore all white Americans today truly believe blacks are below human

Anyone remember this verse from the Bible:

"If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her."

    Deuteronomy 22:28-29
I've seen this verse be discussed before, and this how I understand it.

During that period, it was paramount that a women was a virgin when she got married (unless she was a widow). To rape a girl was not only tramatic for her, it might make her undesirable to suitors. If she never married, she would always be dependant on her father or other relatives for support. Basically, if you raped a girl, you potentially ruined her life. The solution was to force the rapist to take care of her (and always unable to divorce her).

It still reflects a very patriarichal mindset (a man must always be there to take care of the woman), but that explanation makes it sound much less bizarre to me.

It's called progressing. In today's Christian world, women have more power than ever. Highly elected officials are women. In the muslim world, they're treated worse than your average pet dog.

Anyways, I posted this here just so you wouldn't ing post. GTFO.

1 ridiculous thing you're seemingly trying to avoid acknowledging:

    1. A 14 year old girl was sentenced to death for being raped due to Sharia Law.
I have studied the sharia law, and no, this isnt sharia law. On this case, the man should be punished..

Makes me wonder if you posted this to hate on a specific religion, because you should have at least looked at the "law" before posting this post of yours or because of pure ignorance

But to be real, this happens a lot of times.

Religion is used as a tool nowadays, but these people who use it are as knowledgeable as you are.

"The process is extremely exacting, a minimum of two witnesses are required to corroborate the evidence, and in the case of sex crimes, four witnesses, thus making it in most cases hard, if not impossible, to receive the violent punishments. Cir stantial evidence is not allowed to be part of the testimony. When one does receive them, it usually would occur in a case where the offense was so obvious, obscene or flagrant that it is impossible to not be convicted."

This girl was ed. Literally and metaphorically. No one was going to investigate or trust her word over his. It might not be a direct relation to Sharia Law in regards to the punishment, but their justification in such punishment sure seems to stem from their laid out laws.

I'm sure you're raging and all, but it is possible she wasn't raped, not saying she is lying or anything. Plus, You forgot to mention the fact that witness evidence is not the only thing they look at. other cases of evidences can be used. On this case though, this could have possibly been the only choice..

And let's be real for a momment, whatever law it is, There have been tons of injustices done, be it by human law or not..

It's all on the people not the religion, system etc..

Lol. I'm not raging. I can calmly say that those involved in this should be burned at the stake. Obviously I'm going off of the assumption that she was raped and she wasn't trying to have sex with this other man. What else am I suppose to do? Fly there and launch a private investigation? If you're going off of the assumption the story is correct and don't want everyone involved to pay with their lives, I don't know what to say to you.

I'm not trying to put all the blame on the religion. It just so happens that the religion involved so happened to be the one that you hear the most ed up come from. Obviously, the people involved are to be held responsible on a personal level and not the religion as a whole necessarily. However, like I said, it always seems to be these people who commit these atrocities.
