I bet Tiago finally gets dusted off in game 2 of the WCF. The Spurs are up 1-0, but are down 9 in the 2nd quarter, and Pop finally unleashes the secret weapon.

Oh, who am I kidding? That secret weapon would be Bonner.
More than likely it'll be the Spurs down in games 1-3 (having lost 1 or 2 games at home) when he'll realize Bonner is not going to cut it against Gasol/Bynum. I could almost wish that LA had HCA so that Pop could possibly realize this during their home games. Alas, by then, HCA which they worked for the whole regular season will be gone.

lol at the president of the VSpan fan club calling anyone a fan boy or a homer.

    That's rich even for KBP.

Splitter is competing with Blair for minutes, not Bonner.

all i know is, when splitter was starting for duncan, he was putting up around the same numbers with less touches and minutes. and his game has definitely improved since the beginning of the season. he finishes much stronger now, and doesn't do that flip shot hardly ever. if he can get his ft shooting to around 70%, i can easily see splitter going 20/10 if pop looks to him more next year.

Splitter has zero offensive game. He never had any offensive game, he has none now, and he probably never will have any. That is why he does not play that much and this whole forum is in denial.......

Led by trolls like you and all your BS hype about Splitter here.
The Spurs are one of the top offensive teams in the NBA. They need a center that can defend and rebound. Things the best center from Europe provides.

Incarcerate Bonner. I don't care if it's Splitter or Blair but both/either should play in front of Bonner in the playoffs. Tightening our rotation when our depth has been our strength all season is counter-intuitive, especially by promoting Bonner who shouldn't have even been re-signed after last year's collapse.

However, one advantage of playing Bonner is that it helps clarify what our defensive approach will be - every team will go against Bonner whenever possible, so at least we know what other teams are going to do.

Look guys. The only explanation for Bonner racking up 20+ minutes per game is that Pop has f*cking lost it. The old man is senile and his retirement plan of a vinyard has gone down the f*cking drain because he won't remember a thing about it.

The reason the Spurs have won championships is because of Duncan. Sure Manu and Parker are amazing players that know when the step it up. But let's get real; it was prime Duncan, one of the greatest of all-time. If this assh*le coach would insert Splitter in the rotation, you'd see our defensive rebounds go up, and our inside defense would improve. Could you imagine Duncan and Splitter inside?

I mean, could it be anymore obvious?

David Aldridge- Just said "I think if Tiago Splitter stays healthy and give them some minutes the Spurs have a great chance at going to Western Finals".

To bad Tiago doesn't get to play.

It's very simple. It's just that this forum is full of fan boys and homers. He was never half as good in Europe as people here think and claim. He has always been a defensive mobile big man and that was it.

He was never an offensive player. But this forum has convinced itself that he was this great super star player in Europe (which is a pure fantasy and is lunatic stuff).

So because of all this "best center in Europe" BS and it IS pure BS......now the expectations are incredibly out of whack for Splitter.
    Lol

So tell me... who was the best center here in Europe last year? and can you name 3 centers better than Splitter playing in Europe?

Pure BS is what you are saying.
Splitter was the best center in the ACB hands down . The MVP of the best league in Europe is clearly a superstar...lol lunatic

So 15.6 ppg in 27 mpg is no offensive game...

So Splitter is not an offensive player and you think Blair is ? I can see the logic behind using Bonner over Splitter (offense vs defense) although I don't agree with it. but this I do not get, playing a front court of Blair and Bonner, You tell me what is the sense in that, you not only suck defensively but you don't have offense as well, with no real threat inside vs legit NBA bigs.

Pop is a great coach, that doesn't mean he is always right. If he puts a line-up of 5 guards does his 4 rings legitimise his decision, off course not.

Call a spade a spade , Bonner and Blair is simply wrong. This is not even debatable

Obviously there is a method to Pops madness. We just havent figured it out. If somehow we win with Bonner playing heavy minutes, Pop is enshrined forever as the greatest coach for believing in Bonner and having the forsyth to see him performing well in the playoffs.

But if Bonner plays bad and Splitter gets more minutes and we still win the le, than Pop is still a genius for also believing in Splitter enough to step in at anytime when called upon to step up and contribute victories. If we get dont win the championship then Pops method didnt pan out. Or maybe the Spurs just werent the best team in the end.

For those of you in San Antonio please go to the games and continue to put up signage - maybe one day soon some reporter with stones will actually ask Pop the question again about the obvious.

You are an idiot. I have explained over and over which centers were better than him. And the ACB has never in history been the best league in Europe you trolling moron.

It is a FACT that the best league is the Euroleague, NOT the ACB. So keep trolling here like a freaking idiot.
    Splitter had 14PPG in Euroleague

shut up and back to your cave!

You are just a troll. He was never the best center in Europe and anyone that follows basketball in Europe knows that.
You claim to follow basketball in Europe, and you said that he was to European basketball what Jeff Foster is to the NBA.

    troll.
