Yes, an American Idol thread

1) Pia got hotter every week, now she's gone. Good one, America! NOT!
2) Pia played it safe and coasted every week. She sounded like a singer on Lawrence Welk (which I actually still like to watch), but most people don't like it and they got tired of her always being massaged by the judges.
3) The Judges basically shat on Stefano by saying they were angry, which to me is disrespectful. The singer is totally to blame for not being able to inspire people to vote.
4) LOL @ Iggy Pop making the censors work over time. He slayed it, as always.
5) When will Paul and Haley go home? JAYYYYSUS!!

Yeah, don't think Pia should have gone home. I think that Jacob and Pia both needed a reality check by being the bottom three. I didn't think either would be going home, however.

Paul and Lauren Alaina need to go home. I don't want Stefano to go but I wouldn't be upset over it either.

I am actually pretty pissed that Pia was voted out. I think she was the best singer of them all. Here is my opinion on who is left.

1. Jacob - The man has a powerful voice, but has extreme difficulty controlling it leading to pitch issues and consistent tone.
2. Stefano - (Not sure how to spell his name) He should be gone. He just has the look young adolescent girls like. Personally, I think he looks constipated when he sings. His singing is only slightly above average.
3. Haley - Worst female left. All she has going for her is the growl. Aside from that, pitch problems everywhere.
4. Casey - Probably the most muscially talented overall. His voice is kinda shaky on certain annunciations. Don't expect him to win, but he can be quite entertaining.
5. Paul - Great smile, good singer. Nothing I have seen seperates him from the other bottom contenders. He seems to be coasting. Must be a Laker fan. (Had to throw that in there)
6. Scott - Great country singer. Needs to work more on his stage presence. Good chance to win it.
7. James - Meh. Screaming high notes is all the guy has. Sounds much better when he softens his voice, but is awefully pitchy.
8. Lauren - Flashes of brilliance, but not consistent enough to win it all.

I think that America is too into gimmicks. They all seem to have one left. Pia didn't really have much of one unless you say her ballads were one.

1. Jacob - High notes. very loud high notes.

5. Casey - artistic freak
6. Stefano - teenage heartthrob sensitive boy

Yeah, if you say that each one has a gimmick, then Pia's was her ballads and always ending on a power note. She always ended her song by picking up her head and singing that power note.

Two contestants I disagree with you on: Casey and Paul

Casey- So much has been written about him being the most musically inclined contestant and a gifted artist. (Sigh!) There has been many before him that play multiple intstruments. They all sang very well!!! Casey doesn't sing well at all! Too me he looks like he's not to be taken seriously. He's more of a comedian than anything else. That's why I refer to him as Weird Al Yanckovic. He might be good at spoofing other artists songs!

Paul- WHITE TEETH!! Other than his teeth, Paul doesn't sing well at all either.

I don't think Stefano gets many teen votes -- he's almost always in the bottom three and he's too short for girls to like that much. I think that Paul and Scotty probably capitalize on the teenage girl vote. Scotty is good though -- Paul , not so much. To me Paul should be singing in small bars, not on American Idol.

I think the best voices were Pia and Jacob (and even Thia). I think the best performers are James and Scotty. I'm not a fan of Lauren and Haley -- they might be next to go and just have an all-male Idol.

As the season goes on, it just makes AI's relationship with the record label look that much worse. Pia was the pre-ordained winner in their eyes, but America wasn't feeling her and they want to rush out a cd? It just screams in-authentic, but then again he voice is REALLY good on record so maybe they will do her some justice rather than treating her as a Celine Dion clone. She's a good girl with a great voice, so I mean no disrespect when I say she's boring, but I'm not down a "loser" getting the same prize sooner than the eventual "winner."
