Do you honestly care about the playoffs this year?

I just got a feeling that they're gonna be really lackluster and boring. I think the Eastern Conference playoffs are going to be really ugly and not entertaining to watch. Out West, it's not gonna be that much different. The only "real" le contenders are the Lakers, Spurs, Thunder, and maybe the Bulls. There aren't really a lot of great teams this year. There are a lot of mediocre/average and bad teams this year. You would think the NBA would put more of an emphasis on this year's playoffs considering that there will probably be another lockout. They should try to go out with a bang. I just don't want to see the Lakers and Celtics in the Finals again. I would much prefer a Thunder-Bulls Finals if possible.

The Western Conference playoffs, as usual, will be fantastic. Eastern conference...meh. Anything can happen though. As in your Mavs could somehow get out of the second round!

saying the WC playoffs will be > the EC playoffs. The EC playoffs are at least a mystery where multiple teams have a chance to win, we already know ahead of time who's winning the WCF, the only real mystery is which team in the opposite bracket will be lucky enough to meet them in the WCF.

to answer the OP's question, I think it will be an exciting playoff. The East is wide open, and in the West there's quality teams up and down the board, so any series that doesn't feature the Lakers is up for grabs. Of course, anybody with a functioning brain knows that LA is coming out of the West again but it'll still be fun to watch regardless

I didn't explain this thread very well. I apologize. These last few weeks of the "run to the playoffs" have been weak because the 8th seeds in both conferences were basically locked in even before those two teams officially clinched. Boring if you ask me. And the insults about the Mavs don't really hurt because the team had their time in the sun. It didn't work out but hey that's life. You don't always get your way. Besides, I was just glad that they finally got to the Finals back in 2006. I still think the playoffs are gonna be dull because the compe ion this year is weak and Stern is gonna try really hard to get the Lakers back in the Finals. The Stanley Cup playoffs will be way more exciting than the NBA's playoffs this year. Just sayin'.
