Do you mean as the primary focus of the Spurs' offense? We are already seeing the "back to the basket Tim Duncan". It's pretty commonplace.
I know we are winning, but may come play off time????

followed by a made bucket? no
Duncan is done... It's all about the backcourt now in San Antonio...
Stated by a person who ignores defensive contributions.
Duncan will have to post up occasionally vs. LA otherwise LA will just camp on the 3pt line and the Spurs won't score.
We have a much more well-rounded offense with a very well-rested Duncan. Tim will get his when called upon. And I feel much more comfortable not needing to feed the rock through him on every play.
hes still really our only option in the post
yeah, we'll see that in the PO.
I see it all the time when Tim is running up the court on defense.
Do any of you people actually watch basketball?
What do you mean by YOU PEOPLE?
This is a difficult time for our country....
Not you . . . them.
Playing in the post is what wore Tim down these last few years. They moved him to the high post for most of the regular season, but look for some post up action in the playoffs.
obviously some people don't![]()
You're not going to see 4-down every trip down the floor, like in past post-seasons. There have been plenty of matchups this year where they put Tim in the low block, back to the basket. He's been pretty good about waiting only a second or so and making his move if the double team doesn't come, and scoring with all kinds of post moves to the baseline or into the center of the paint. But the high PnR is the bread and butter halfcourt set for the most part.

And he is very effective on the high picks. Best hands ever in the NBA. We still go down low to him and people screen off of him. Its just that now that we have three, maybe four guards that can penetrate with more than enough guys that can hit the 3, so the offense is not the same.
Duncan still demands a double team in the right offensive sets. Because he is so long he can still pass over the top or go to his blazing fast rolling "jump" hook across the middle of the lane. He still gets fouled on that quite a bit.
If he is not in the lineup, we are a much weaker team. I cringe with the duo of Bonner/Blair. Duncan's length, hands and basketball IQ are still a major factor in games. He has clearly lost more than a step, and what tiny amount of jumping ability he did have is gone. We will never have another player as good as him. Enjoy the late years.
