New Orleans and Memphis yeah, but Portland?
Maybe, who knows.
Yes. OKC isn't good enough to make up for a first round bye. At worst, MEM/POR would be physical.
Spurs getting a non-physical team in NO is huge.
New Orleans and Memphis yeah, but Portland?
Maybe, who knows.
Agreed 100%.
Having Camby or Gasol banging on Bynum and Gasol for mutliple games you think would help...
OKC getting their butts beaten by a bad Sacramento team right now... Still early however.
I would have a better feeling about Mem against LA than Portland.
I have no doubt that POR will choke in either Game 3 or 4 against the Lakers and the Lakers close it out in 5.
Lakers might close out MEM in 5 as well but it'll be a lot more physical than a Blazers/Laker series, IMO.
I disagree. I think Portland would be a tougher match up.
We want Dallas to beat NO and LA to lose one of their last games.
To me Memphis im still not clear on how the they are winning.
They have no established go to guy (Zach Randolph?) and their bench is OJ Mayo and....? (Honestly can't remember who comes off their bench)
I think Portland is pretty well balanced, good defensively, got LONG guys to throw at Bryant even though its for naught, still guys like Wallace and Batum getting a long arm and hand up HAVE to help.
Portland seems to me to be LA's weakness like Golden State was Dallas's in 07.
Wishfull thinking Im sure, but from how Portland matches up it points that way to a point...
Memphis is good because they have solid, balanced talent. They also play disciplined ball. They run their stuff, go down low often and play off of that.
lol, Sam Perkins just blocked a shot by sticking his hand up through the cylinder--no call.
Bennett Salvatore game, of course.
Big game against Memphis tomorrow night. I bought tickets from a scalper site and had to pay a bit of a premium. They're good seats though so it's worth it.![]()
Horrible call!![]()
Or non-call actually...
I'm fine with either one as long as they don't have to play NO but Memphis has Allen/Battier to throw at Kobe as well. And i think Gasol/Randolph would pose more problems than Aldrige/Wallace. I also think Conley is a better matchup against LA than Andre Miller is who doesn't really exploit the Lakers' pg issues.
Roy would have to play pretty big for the Blazers to even make that a series.
I'm fine with however the Dal/NO game turns out as long as OKC wins out and Mem splits their last 2.
WTF, Sam Perkins?
Senile moron.
The other senile moron didn't catch it.
Sam Perkins would be a beast on OKC, tbh.
Sam Perkins would be a beast in place of Bonner.
I'd take present day Sam Perkins over Bonner tbh.
I thought you were making a funny.
OKC-Sac is trying to set a record for blown shots at the rim.
Kings are playing hard, though.
Nice try. Would be more believable without the drool on your bib.
Dallas will do that if we beat LA, and allow them the opportunity to lock up #2.
If we don't beat LA, then Dallas likely mails in game #82 against NO, since LA is playing Sacto to get #2, and they play late.
Even if the Lakers beat us tomorrow, both the Lakers AND Dallas will be playing for something on Wednesday. Neither team will mail it in. Dallas plays earlier than LA, and if Dallas beats New Orleans and LA loses to Sacramento later that night, Dallas will take the 2 seed.....
sacramento will play their hearts out game #82
So..someone clear this up for me. I've been confused the whole thread.
What has to happen for the 6, 7 and 8 to be Memphis (6), Portland (7) and New Orleans (8)? And if this happens, how would it benefit the Spurs (besides an obvious cakewalk first round)?
