them. They all talked out the side of their mouths about the Lakers & Kobe, making off hand comments, code words, innuendo.

& the Maloofs. Pick your up and get the out.
As you fling cab fare at them...

Their fans are a bunch of cowtown Laker hating ... (Kobe slur from other night) ...

But they do love their Kings and deserve better than this.

Bummer for Sacramento. However, that franchise has moved a couple of times already. I feel worse for the Sonics. The Sonics actually won a le and were always in Seattle.
At least there's a chance Seattle will get another team. Sacramento is finished as an NBA market, and probably as a big-league sports market.

Why are they moving anyways? From what I know about Sacramento fans, they are small market die-hards like us in San Antonio, and we voted yes to build the At&T center and keep the team in San Antonio with a 30 year deal.

Did the Maloofs simply choose to re-locate? Or did the fans vote "No" on an arena proposal?? the Maloof's, they are going to fail in Anaheim. No way the L.A. market can support 3 teams..that is Laker country, always will be.

I remember all the talk about bringing an NFL franchise to San Antonio, and I know it's a different sport, but fan allegiances are tough to change. I grew up a Cowboy fan, regardless of a new team, I would not change, I would probably HATE the new franchise. This is going to be a challenge for the Maloof's, and the people who suffer most are the true fans of the franchise who have been supportive for years.

Pretty sure its the lack of a new arena, because it certainly isnt for lack of fan support. Same happened with Seattle...they were willing to build new stadiums for the Mariners, Seahawks, and even the Sounders but not for the Sonics. Its sad but if you look at it from a business standpoint both Arco and Key Arena are ancient, probably alot of revenue being lost as a result. Its pretty obvious that both needed new arenas but the cities werent budging.

Same mightve happened to the Spurs, the 99' le probably saved us...thats when Spurs support was through the rough and the building for the AT&T Center was overwhelmingly approved.

Without the 99 le the Spurs would be gone too. Remember how badly the arena vote failed in 98? Without that first championship they'd have won the other 3 in New Orleans or Anaheim.

The Maloof brothers have serious debt problems…Orange County has serious money…There probably is more money in Orange County than LA…IMO The Clippers should have jumped at the opportunity to move to the Ponda Center where the local millionaires are itching to give away 0% interest loans to land a sports franchise…

It was just four years ago when the Kings were valued at $385-million dollars by Forbes Magazine. Since then the worth has fallen to $293-million, according to the financial magazine, placing the team 24th in the league. Discount ticket prices have not increased revenue in recent years and where at one time ARCO Arena sold out consistently, this season the attendance has hovered around 13,000 on average.

The Maloofs saw major corporate sponsors, such as Southwest and Qwest pull advertising from ARCO Arena. In 2009, the Kings laid off 12 employees and in December of that year, the Maloofs sold their family's ever reliable New Mexico beer distributorship "to focus on the Kings, Palms and other Maloof ventures." Now there are rumblings the Maloofs own less than 15% stake in the Palms casino in Las Vegas and may soon have to sell their remaining shares. The Kings also borrowed $75-million from the City of Sacramento…

Interesting..I am surprised that Sacramento as a whole was not interested in voting to keep the only pro franchise that matters. (Do they even have another pro team??)

As far as our vote failing in 98', it was to be expected considering what a failure the Alamodome was as far as getting us an NFL franchise. Thank god things worked out, I couldn't imagine not having the Spurs around.

Sad to see them go, if they do go, because they provided a nice little North-South rivalry with the Lakers and were home to some of the most rabid fans in the league. Believe me, Sactown is boring. There is nothing to do but meth and/or Kings games. Anyhow, it's the fault of the Maloofs for trying to push all the money into the Palms when the Vegas economy was taking a serious tourism hit due to the deep recession. They couldn't ponie up the monies for a new stadium and to correct their debt that they then decide to suck up on the fat O.C. money. All the while the fans in dead Sacramento suffer for it.

Those guys were also great announcers. There's a lot of ing around here about the most homer announcers, but those Kings guys always seemed fairly even handed. Hope they can stick with the team wherever they go.
    Seriously, they were great announcers.
