Spurs will face the least experienced teams in the West in the first/second round though. Counts for something.

Most teams (if not all of them) would prefer to play the Spurs than to play the Lakers, so I don't have a problem with them wanting the 8th seed. Now it's up to the Spurs to make them look silly.

I dont remember a team tanking so blatantly to try to avoid a specific team. I mean , all they had to do was win out their last two games and they could have moved all the way up to the sixth seed.

Gotta wait & see if Memphis is serious like if we were matched up with 'em. Never a false move, a wasted shot, a wrong strategy when they see us on the other side. The humps are right up on their gd toes. That Conley actually levitates off the in' floor.

& Gasol has been marking time & cashing checks now for an entire season. We'll see if he's ready now to act like somebody.

It's all thanks to tunnel vision...a singular line of sight at the right kneecap of one Andrew Bynum. It's like Ric Flair once he hits his first chop block on you...that leg is a target until its Figure Four time

I wonder what that (fig 4) really feels like? Is it really excruciating, or, is that just part of the act?

Even if the Grizz did purposely lose to escape the Lakers, there was a point where the mercurial Lakers almost handed the 2nd seed to Dallas. Good thing the Lakers are king of the OT this year (4-0).

I think it'll be compe ive, but the Spurs take it in 6. I think this will be a great experience boost for the young Grizz. However, missing Gay is going to to prove to be too much of a burden to bear.

My best guess is Spurs in 6, though I think 7 is a lot more likely than 5. Randolph is a horrible matchup and Memphis is a really good team whose record is skewed by a slow start to the season (just like Portland).

A REAL leglock like that is excruciating. You can break the knee joint with it. The WWE stuff is likely not full force, cuz it's all just for show.

& then supposedly if you keep going it'll break their leg. Did you get that feeling applying it, Bene?

***I just read Tamps information about the leg breakage.

I'll put it on my bucket list:::"put figure four leg lock on the old lady."

Memphis inexperienced will keep them from a game 7. I can see them getting worried and playing ty ball after being down a game or two.

It would take a tremendous amount of leg strength to actually break someones leg in a figure four IMO. I enjoyed it immensely though...as I spent the better part of my childhood getting beat up by him(he's 18mo older than me).

I doubt this series goes further than 5. Grizzlies just don't have the scoring on one end without Gay, nor the perimeter defense on the other to stop the Spurs from running a train on em. Games will be fairly close and exciting, thanks mainly to their size advantage, but the Grizz just don't have a chance in the actual series.

If any Spurfan are actually nervous about playing Memphis than you got no confidence in your team. That will be 5 or 6 max. The only con of playing memphis is they like to get physical & have some good perimeter defense in Allen & Battier. They'll make Manu & Duncan work so SA will need some role players like Hill & Neal to step up. Bonner shouldnt even put his shoes on the hardwood in this series but Pop has a mancrush on him for some unknown reason.

Yeah, I don't see SA losing. Had they played the Hornets, it would have been 5 games max without West in there. Memphis is a bit more physical and could drag a series out, which concerns me with the young athletic Nugs/Thunder waiting in the second round. Then again, that OKC/Den series has 7 written all over it.

It's not the leg bones themselves, but rather the knee joint, that is the susceptible part. Any leglock done at full force, like the Figure 4, Sharpshooter, Scorpion Deathlock, etc. can blow out the knee joint of the victim if really laid on at full power. The WWE is all just for show, so they're not really putting much pressure on.
