sons Bill Simmons knows what's up
its even more embarrassing that the NBA has gotten away with this for as long as they have.
Total FT attempts today with all 4 teams playing equally hard: 71 (Miami/Chicago), 32 (Indy/Philly). That's embarrassing.

No point in continuing, just give Heats/Lakers the ship already.

Stern is ruining the NBA for anyone intelligent enough to figure out what he's doing with the officiating
I think it's a home court thing Nate McMillan was pretty pissed about the 19 ft to Mavs vs. 2 ft to Blazers in the 4th

pretty legitimate, imho
sons the problem isn't the officials because they are just doing their job, its the NBA. the officials are trained well and are told to give star players and certain teams favorable calls. sons at the end of the day this is all about, and only about one thing ..... MONEY. The NBA does everything in their power to control the outcome of games, push certain players to the top by inflating their scoring numbers with bogus free throws, etc. and it is made even more obvious during the playoffs.
Now obviously the NBA can't guarantee the outcome of every single game, but you would be a damn fool to think they aren't trying to. An NBA finals match up between the Lakers and Heat = high ratings and more money. An NBA finals match up between the Grizzlies and Pacers = horrible ratings and far less money.
Wow BR, you really summed it up for me. You are so knowledgeable. It's so clear now.
Definitely some star treatment going on around here. NBA obviously wants storylines and their manufactured superstars like d rose make great theater.
son how does it feel to know your hornets wouldnt be able to win a series even if they got calls go their way ? enlighten me son
I'm not talking about any specific event. Stern consistently stifles any internal criticism of NBA officiating. This in and of itself proves that the officiating is not meant to be objective.
The NBA is definitely fixed, fortunately every once and a while certain teams are so good that they are able to overcome Stern and his minions, their classy fans will them on to greatness. Teams such as the '99, '03, '05, '07 Spurs are truly inspirational, despite all odds going against the they find a way to get it done. Brings a tear to my eye every time I think about it![]()
FT should be canceled imho. dat FT rule empowers em to rig the game, always handing a W to the favored team, really a shame tbqh nba not any more da league it once was tbh
Those stats are insane. However for the sake of argument watch todays games to see if the refs are calling the same fouls against the less favored team. The ft difference could just be caused by the better team being more aggressive.
And yet the Lakers had one of the worst negative ratios in postseason history last year with regards to fouls. Go figure.
Wait till you see Parker and Paul molested today by Grizz and LAL respectively, and no called
Add 29 FTs from Dallas to 13 from Portland and it start looking worse.
wow blazers 46 to 18 advantage in the paint, and still mavs shoot 29 fts to blazers 13
It seemed in the fourth, the refs were so quick on the whistle, as if they were just waiting to see the smallest bit of contact.
13 FTs for Grizz in the game.
13 FTs for Dirk in the 4th qtr, (he makes all 13, Mavs win by 8)
Yes, the team Donaghy/Stern/Jackson crowned in 2007 through nefarious means is going to get the short end of the whistle.
Remember when Kobe shot ZERO freethrows in a WCF game against the Spurs and still won?![]()
Spurfan complaining about refs
rememba det one time Tim Donaghy won you guys a playoff game?
There should be a pinned "NBA is fixed!!!" butthurt thread, tbh.
