he'll do his usual tank job, but Blair is the enemy of the Spurs (he's taking Splitters minutes and constantly get's blocked by opponents and the rim) not Bonner.
    As usual, you're horribly wrong.

If Bonner reacts well and doesn't think, he will certainly have my support, through the thick and the thin. Y'all's fairweather friendly fire bull won't ever apply to me.

However, should he think instead of react even one game, essentially allowing himself to be thrown off by himself, then it is over, and Bonner is truly without allies on this board.

Bonner in the playoffs, only has comedic value, tbh. Ginger will become Z-Bo's prison .

Bonner should play when the matchup dictates. That is usally against a big who likes to shoot outside.

Blair should play if he promises to pass back out every offensive rebound.

Splitter should play when we need to stop penetration and to slow down any opposing size advantage.

The problem is what should be done and what will be done are two different things.

    No it won't.
Mark my words, there will still be plenty of Bonner threads to go around.

I hope not. I'd rather have to take from vander for a year than watch Bonner suck in a third consecutive playoff.

I would love it if Bonner turned a complete 180 this time and went Bowen/Elliott/Kerr/Horry and hit a load of big shots and helped bring a le to San Antonio. I'd also love it if Scarlett Johannson would allow me to motorboat her tig ol' bitties while penetrating Jessica Alba's baby gap.

See where I'm going with this?

There's more to the game than just hitting threes, which Bonner has rarely done in the playoffs.

There's defense and rebounding and making an impact in the game both in the boxscore and out. That's something Horry was masterful at. Clutch rebounding, clutch blocks (5 in a Finals game in 07 iirc), clutch defense, sneaky fouls, getting under someone's skin, driving dunks, etc. Horry could help the Spurs win a game for the Spurs without even hitting a three-pointer, Bonner never has done that.

Even if Bonner makes some threes, he most likely won't be doing all those other things. But irrational Bonner lovers won't notice that. If he knocks down 2 threes while only pulling down 3 rebounds in 30 minutes and otherwise doing nothing like the game 4 against PHX it won't matter, Bonner lovers will declare him inncredible and vomit on the forum with their nonsense.

The Spurs beat Dallas, the higher seed, with Bonner playing like Bonner-ish trash.

So TD, Parker and Manu have been able to overcome him before, for at least a round. Here's hoping he doesn't take too many minutes the rest of the way.

I loved when Horry would come in because I knew he was going to do work on the defensive end. With Bonner, you get weak defense (although it has vastly improved since he got here), weak rebounding (trex arms), and goofy drives to the hole which result in awkward last second passes. Even when he makes 3's, he gives up 2's on D the very next play. He gets posted up by shooting guards ffs.

I think Bonner is cool as and I'm happy a guy like him can make a good career in the NBA, but gd Pop is a fool.

It's not Bonner's fault. You or I would play if they would let us. It's Pop's choice to play Bonner. Bonner is just a weak chess piece that Pop over plays.

its just sad to see marc gasol do such a simple move, and totally throw matts defense for a loop then what do you have?

you have gasol underneath the basket ready to feast on a 3pt play. on that particular play tony leaves his man (b/c bonners d is terrible) and steals the ball from gasol but if he hadn't there would have been yet another teabag with bonners mouth wide open !!

what makes pop give him so many minutes in the fourth??? really !

3's are all he has. When he is red Hot like in the Heat blowout in SA great leave him in but when he is getting lit up on D and his plus/minus is in the toilet as we are trailing or barely winning

sit him the down and play Splitter..
