Refs wanted the series to go 7 tbh.
explain how the Spurs/Grizzlies game was the one instance where 40+ free throws for 1 team was warranted![]()
So were the Nazis, but that didn't stop you from sheltering them
Spur Fan is probably inventing some excuses upstairs right about now
Will respond in a bit...looking for my San Antonio Hornets jersey
The NBA is rigged against the spurs. Only true champions. Classy freethrows

No excuses, Pop playing Bonner 20+ minutes while Splitter gets chained to the bench ing sucks though. That and Parker needs to get his head out of his ass.
Nice jiggable signature.![]()
giant free throw disparity = class
The refs were just whistle-happy. The Spurs definitely got more calls, but there were 60 total foul calls and 80 total free throws between the two teams. It wasn't as one-sided as some of the games yesterday...Memphis still shot 33 free throws, and were only called for 6 more fouls than the Spurs.
It is pathetic. Laugh all you want, it's ing warranted.
Memphis isn't a 3 point shooting team playing a red headed 3 point shooter at C. They should be getting more free throws.
40 free throws for one team is only warranted when the classy spurs are playing

And that team still lost, so what is your point?
Memphis shot 33 ft's which in its own right is alot for any game too.
You have to win with a FT disparity like that...
Simply, no. It's warranted because the refs literally gave the Spurs the game with calls. From an unbiased view, home cooking was in full effect. Still, the Spurs couldn't capitalize.
Did I say the loss was pathetic? Nah, I changed my mind, it's more than that.
If you watched the game you'd realize how stupid and undisciplined the Grizzlies are at times. OJ mayo is borderline re ed. It's hard not to call fouls on him and Allen with the way they play.
It wasn't. It was a boring ass game because of all those bull foul calls. If the rest of the series is like that, that's going to require some coffee or Red Bull or both.
I'm not disagreeing with that. I was rather just saying that it wasn't as one-sided as some games yesterday (CHI 32 to 17, MIA 39 to 15, or DAL 29 to POR 13.) In all those cases the home team got double (close enough for CHI) or more free throws than the opposing team.
Spurs shot 47 to MEM's 33, and were definitely given the benefit of the home-friendly whistle, but the refs weren't calling it like a playoff game should be called anyway.
Either way, the Spurs didn't defend well enough to deserve to win this game, even with the help of the refs. So far they have no answer for Randolph/Gasol in the post or on the glass, and if that doesn't change then they are in big trouble with or without Manu.
I think that bolded text is part of the problem. Officiating should not be so subjective. A foul is a foul regardless of the situation.
Not when your team only shoots 40% from the floor and gives up 55%, or at least that was the case today.
Funny and original, I can play that game too.
The native Americans were not, but that didn't stop you from slaughtering them away in genocide fashion.
Cool game.
