Pop's a smart coach. He always makes adjustments. I'm pretty sure he'll figure out that Memphis' two bigs going for 20+ points is no coincidence.
Let's go, Pop.
Plus, he'll let Ginobili play. C'MON, MAN.
In other news, Bonner is changing his name to Tiago Splitter
Yeah, that DNP-CD really gives me confidence he'll play significant minutes. And the fact that even Green saw minutes today over Splitter gives me confidence too.
So basically you can't guarantee anything, you're just hoping he plays Splitter.
Thanks for letting us know you hope Splitter gets some playing time.
Is this a joke? Pop has seen front courts kill this team all year and only plays Splitter significant minutes when Duncan is hurt...If Duncan is going to average 35 minutes a game, Splitter is going to get some nice front court seats this series until Memphis goes on to the next round.
that's a good one.![]()
I will resuscitate this thread when Tiago has logged in 25 minutes next game! LOL.
zocool, you are so cool!![]()
Dude, to be honest, I don't even know if I was joking. I was serious at first, and then, as I was typing, I was like, "what am I writing?"
Still, I guess I'll go on a limb like Chuck and say Tiago will play significant minutes next game.
In other words, we can expect this thread to hit page 10 by next Thursday...
At least your "guarantee" will be forgotten by then and you can pretend it didn't happen.
Tim played really well today, but even he, in his declining state, has difficulty not only keeped the Memphis beasts off the glass, but he also finds himself physically pushed out of position proximity for offensive rebounds. At this point in his career, he seemingly gets more rebounds because of his length.
My point to all this is, he needs more help. Tiago can play against Gasol He's got just enough junk in his game to combat him on one end, and get offense against him on the other.
I'm thoroughly convinced that unless Pop give Tiago some significant time, the Spurs will lose this series.

If Pop was truly smart, he would have put Splitter in there in game 1.
I don't see where the quality of play on defense would have suffered with Splitter. I saw tons of mistakes with the vets.
BTW lots of momentum killing whistles on Duncan when SA could have built a cushion.
This.
"The Playoffs are not for Tiago."
Both Dice and Blair had 5 fouls. Splitter couldnt even sniff a second with this situation.
It's bull how Pop doesn't play Splitter because he doesn't know the system but he sure as knows more about executing it than Bonner in his 5th year and Blair in his second year.
Not cool to hope for an injury to Duncan like that.![]()
Pop wil stick to his guns (so to speak).
No Splitter.
There is a reason why memphis tanked to play the Spurs.
Huh? We outrebounded them 40-38. Duncan had 5 offensive boards by himself, as many as their entire team.
This game was lost because the Grizz got a bunch of crazy rolls and fluke shots to drop (55% shooting) while our rolls didn't go down. How many times did TP miss the bucket when he drove? Usually half of those go down, he was just off today.
RJ showing how big a vag he has on that last WIDE OPEN shot didn't help either.
Splitter must feel like a fool for coming to SA,
being punished for what,
being taught a lesson for what, what lesson?
wasting a year for what?
He simply can't be worse than Blair or Dice.
Gasol + Randolph: 19/25 FG, 23 RBs, 49 PT, while Splitter sits.
