The Duncan,Parker,Ginobili era of Spurs basketball yielded 3 les so far. And In those 3 le runs, the Spurs have lost Game 1 of the first round of the play-offs.

    2003 vs. Phoenix
    2005 vs. Denver
    2007 vs. Denver

    Question is.....
    will 2011 be a
    in San Antonio?

Although it was not the Duncan/Ginobili/Parker era, the Spurs began their first le run in 1999 with a loss to the 8th seed Minnesota Timberwolves. Just food for thought, they're actually 4 for 4 so far, winning les when losing the 1st game.

well in 1999, the Spurs did lose to Minnesota but it was not in game 1. It happened in game 2. But if it makes you feel better, the Spurs are so far, 4 of 4 (in NBA les) when a split happens in the first round of the play-offs.

In addition, I got married in '99 and my kids were born in 12/02 and 2/05. My wife's expecting our third this year, so the Spurs have to win either this year or next.

Indeed. 1999 was a great year for you guys. You even swept my Lakes with Shaq,Kobe and Rice. But unlike your 2011 team, that 1999 team was swatting every shot attempt at the paint. The twin towers were there plus a couple of thugs from Portland and offcourse Mario Elie. They gave people like Rose or Westbrook or even Wade,Kobe and Lebron a hardwood-kissing experience if they drive to the rim. Now? I can't say the same about Bonner or Splitter. At least Duncan can still block shots.

I guess I should have knocked her up a few months earlier to help solidify a le. It'd be a lot easier for Pop to just play the goddamn centers, though.
