I remember telling Capt Bringdown that Artest would show up in the postseason. It's only one game, but it's a markedly better performance than anything I've seen of recent memory from him. He'll be fine. Gasol and Odom were invisible today. Couple that with a flawless NOH performance and you get today's result.
Artest just picked up where he left off as far as the playoffs go. He was the best player on the court in game 7 against the Celtics.

Someone should tell him that if he's working for that 24th draft pick, he's starting too late.

He was the Finals MVP imo...he at least warranted consideration.

scro I would buy you a beer if I was in town, tbh. One of those days where you just have to laugh at your own team (in this case, both teams).

I'm glad the Spurs have to stew until then, but somehow I have a feeling Pop's going to sleep like a baby tonight knowing he did all he could to give his team a chance to win that they wouldn't have had without his genius.

The Celtics' win ruined my night more than the Lakers' loss for some reason.

    Rough day, scotch helps

I think I've said this before, but I have way more belief that LA will start playing better than that Popovich is suddenly going to get his brain back.

I've said this before but something's just not right about this team. The '86 and '03 teams gave me the same feeling. They're just perpetually listless and seem incapable of playing any sustained defense.

The Spurs will get by for a series or two, but yeah...Pop basically ed his team over when he decided Splitter wasn't going to be an integral part of the rotation.

The Lakers might be the laziest great team of all time. They never give a until they absolutely have too. They lost game 1 so yeah i guess we have to play hard now..

It's definitely time for a run like the one they went on after the all-star break. Health and depth wise, the west is way better than the last two years (if memory serves). They got the preferred path to the finals in the west, but it's far from easy. They play like they did against Houston a couple of years ago or OKC last year and they'll be watching the finals from their couch.

The Rockets in '96 were the laziest great team I ever saw. I remember Rudy T catching heat from the league for resting all his players.

Pop just applying his newfound paralogic of using a ty frontline for extended periods of time against a really huge Memphis, nothing new to see here.

What's really frustrating (and the Laker loss makes me feel a LITTLE better about the Spurs loss, FWIW) is that even one of Pop's coaching disciples understands that you have to throw size at size, regardless of the experience level or "getting over" himself. I doubt many NBA playoff viewers today had even heard of Aaron Gray, and he ended up playing a key role in the Hornet's win!

props to that uncle tom shane battier. both teams should be fine. spurs have to bench either bonner or blair. they desperately need splitter. for the lakers, they need to try on defense. cant let scrubs like gray, green, jack all go nuts.
