Jackie Butler was bad not only because he sucked but because his signing was a big reason the Spurs traded Scola.
Dejuan Blair is Jackie Butler reincarnated, not by the way they play but build.
Do you guys remember Bateer's translator?? always used to get really pumped during the playoffs, I specifically remember him going crazy when Kerr nailed those three's against the Mavs in 03'![]()
This was an actual team we put on the floor during the 1988-89 season. We lost to the 12-40 Indiana Pacers 112-93. This game was away, but this lineup and this team was full of drugged up stupid players.
Dallas Comegys
Willie Anderson
Greg Anderson
Michael Anderson
Frank Brickowski
This is when we had Vernon Maxwell who was going bad, Alvin Robertson was having problems. It was a pitiful team. This was a real team, a real starting lineup and it was worse than horrendous. Willie Anderson was definitely our best player that season. I remember getting to move down into the expensive seats because no one would show up. My Dad had season tickets and we just scrambled down with other friends because everyone would just give their tickets away. My dad just dropped us off. You could hear exactly what all the players were saying that year it was so empty.
Lloyd Daniels
Alfredrick Hughes
Keith Bogans
Sidney Green
Dwayne Schintzius
Coach: 2006-2011 Gregg Popovich
Went to my high school.![]()
2008 horry was bad. 2.5ppg, 32% fg, 25% 3pt, 13 min per game
Curious who might have the worst stats with the most mins per game.
My friends and I used to do the same thing back when the Spurs really sucked. One of my friends was a ball boy who would sneak us into the arena, and then we would walk down to the good seats. Worked every time.
We got so many free tickets... it was actually a great time for kids.
I think we could do a Bonner, Bateer, Haley front court, kinda like the old Robinson, Duncan, Perdue back in the day. That'd be a great start right there!
I think maybe we should exclude players who were just washed up, like Sleepy Floyd, Steve Smith, Charles Smith, NVE and Finley, even though these guys are some of my least favorite Spurs ever.
I'll go with guys who just sucked ass overall and got PT.
PG Roger Mason Jr. (point guard version that shouldnt have existed)
SG Keith Bogans
F Matt Bonner (postseason version)
F Carl Herrera
C Cadillac Anderson
I'm 27 and I'm sure there is some recency bias, but those are my 5.
How about Avery during the WCF steamrolling by the Lakers. He was thoroughly reduced to a footstool in that series.
Ok, seriously, Charles Smith and his arthritic knee, the ghost of Luis Scola haunting us, playoff Roger Mason, Mengke Bateer and his dominance of Shaq, and maybe playoff Vinny del Negro would make a pretty harsh lineup.
Jack Haley! Great call! That was Dennis Rodman's buddy and I remember he got signed because Rodman insisted that he make the team. Haley would basically come off the bench for thirty seconds every ten games to drop a quick hard foul on someone.
Uwe Blab was pretty awesome.
Well, he started a fight with Gary Grant in the playoffs. Grant was about two feet shorter than Haley and looked like a sugar glider.
Did Zarko ever actually play or did he just sit on the bench and smoke cigarettes?
don't forget about sleepy floyd.. dude looked perpetually stoned![]()
Malik Rose will always be on my list... sure he's not the worst, but I did hate the guy...
Charlie Ward, Udoka, etc. etc.
PG Vinny Del Negro
SG Steve Smith
SF Alfrederick Hughes
PF Sidney Green
C Samaki Walker
Sleepy's more likely to make the all-defense list on the other thread than the all time worst.
i ing hated old ass Nick Van Exel
Add Jason Hart, Ron Mercer, and Dion Glover.
