it's amazing how the whole town goes crazy when it's favorit son is not there.
The spurs suck without him. PERIOD

If this was a big market team like the lakers, knicks, heat,...this type of game by manu would be promoted heavily as a legendary performance by manu which it certainly was. This game shows why we need him and I hope spurs fans never forget what he did tonight no matter the outcome of the rest of the playoffs. Manu you're a in legend!
And there are some dumbasses who thought Manu playing would'nt have won us game 1.
Spot on.
I need Ducks' opinion on this.
Not dumbasses.
We just believe inthe Spurs as a team to be able to win AGAINST the ing Grizzlies. They should.
Clearly I was wrong in putting so much faith in the Spurs without Manu.
Much props in admitting a fault. I have faith in them to be able to win without manu also but he is mentally rock solid and its contagious. Too many mental midgets on the spurs and parker sad to say is becoming one again as he was early in his career with the spurs.
In terms of what he means to his team. YES
Its kind of funny how much praise Manu gets for tonights game BECAUSE of our failure to close out game one. If we hold our 4 point lead with a minute and half left in game 1 we aren't having these threads. Manu gave his all tonight and his spark definitely changed the game. But did he play a great game? Absolutely not. He shot horribly and couldn't make his ft's. Yes I understand the brace limits his shooting. But if we win game 1 we're talking about how we escaped with a win in this game despite Manu's poor shooting. Completely agree he's our heart and soul, but we suck without him? As Pop would probably say... We sucked by one possession last game? lol
Manu's shooting % has been very inconsistent this season.
Manu was a man possessed. He was all over the place. I thought he was going to rip his own arm off and beat the opponent with it.
We didn't, Manu helped. It is what it is. If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle.
It's not about shooting% nor stats, it's about his contagious winning mentality and the ability to make people around him better, that's why he has won everywhere he was.
P/S: He also has the ability to make the best play at the most crucial time, it could be a basket in the last second of a game, or drawing a charge in the 2nd quarter to build momentum.
You're pretty clueless and hopeless about basketball if you didnt see yet again how Manu is the heart and soul of this team. Missed shots, fts or otherwise don't change that.

Buck Harvey
Tony Allen tried. He patted the floor, and he screamed at a teammate, and he was mad at himself afterward.
But that wasn’t good enough. For one of the few times in his career in a game not involving Ron Artest, there was someone less sane on the court.
That would be the one he chased, and the one he confronted on the sideline.
Manu Ginobili. The elbow wasn’t the only part of him that was bent.
Team doesn't necessarily suck without him, but the difference in energy/defense/execution between Games 1 & 2 was no coincidence.
That's a lot of ifs... If we didn't get our asses handed to us by the Suns last season... If Tony played better... If ZBo didn't suck this game... That's an easy game to play.
anyone who doesnt realize that Manu IS the heart and soul of this team...needs to keep smoking "whatever"
And people wanted him traded. Manu is the heart of this team. Look at 09
