keep the trolls coming midnightpulp
This is one of the guttiest performances ever by any North American sports playing individual much less NBA player.
Kobe singlehandedly led his team to victory even with such a ty team on offense and defense. Anytime you shut down the likes of Willie Green and Marco Bellinelli, that says enough about what kind of defensive player you are.
And then on offense he had to carry the entire load even with one of the worst Power Forwards in the game in Gasol. Now if this was a debate on which Power Forward was the best in the league, then I would skew the stats to show why Gasol is #1 but since it's a topic where I try to diminish Kobe's supporting cast, I flip flop and all over Gasol. I wouldn't really expect SpurFan to understand my genius thinking though.
dr ing house I saw an episode last week it was sad
some chick was picking him up from a bar and she died =[
Great, great thread.
Willie Green and Marco Bellinelli are emerging superstars on a Kevin Durant/Derek Rose level, and Kobe made 'em look silly on both ends of the floor. Kobe also showed Trevor Ariza why it wasn't a good idea to leave the Purple 'n Gold, and outperformed him in every conceivable way possible.
It is an honor and privilege to watch that man (is he really a man, or closer to a god?) play the game of basketball.
actually, I'm fairly certain that that one is bump.
tbh early Dr House was my favorite troll on ST when the original DrHouse was posting hundreds of threads a week. He mimicked him almost exactly to where you really couldn't tell if it was fake unless you actually stopped and noticed the space
One of mine too.
Yes Kobe is playing this series like he is ranked 17th all time in PER while overall Chris Paul at 8 has been far better. No surprise there, quietly the last half decade Paul has been the far superior player, he just has not had the team around him that the lucky Bryant has had carrying the most over-ranked NBA superstar of all time time and time again. Without Bynum, Gasol, and Odom KB, ala Mr. 6 for 24 and Mr. non clutch in reality (see other thread on "appreciation( copied below for the trolls who cannot find things that are obvious) " is so over-ranked for leadership, true clutchness, and his off and on defense all contributing to his real psuedo greatness vs. other greats time and time again it is not funny. If Lakers win series and/or le Kobe will get too much credit as he has gotten too much redemption and over the top love by his adoring, non-evidence based fans - no matter what he does or says on or off the court.

COPIED FROM B.S. APPRECIATION THREAD
BEST CLOSER = NOT BRYANT = Total B.S. HAS BEEN ABSOLUTELY DEBUNKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Subjectively, Bryant might be looked as a great clutch player or contributor to his team in the clutch but alot of evidence strongly debunks this. For every highlight reel that makes ESPN and the rest of the media, more often than not Bryant comes up small in the clutch compared to Ginobili for one.
"Not only is Ginobili the new Batman, he's also Mr. Clutch." (nba.com)
Now from ESPN and others see sites above BRYANT IS FAR OVERRANKED BY HOMERS OF LAL re his clutchness/contributions to the team's success and the ill informed fans and media surprisingly continue to seemingly totally suck up to this over-rated superstar!
Read this right on piece:
Henry Abbott of TrueHoop is going to get a ton of hate mail for writing something that is really, at its heart, not so shocking. The upshot of Henry’s piece is that Kobe Bryant is not what believers would term “clutch.” The key piece of evidence:
ESPN Stats and Information’s Alok Pattani dug through 15 years of NBA data – Bryant’s entire career, regular season and playoffs — and found that Bryant has attempted 115 shots in the final 24 seconds of a game in which the Lakers were tied or trailed by two or fewer points. He connected on 36, and missed 79 times.
That works out to 31 percent. That’s obviously horrible. It would embarrass the 2001 version of Antoine Walker.
But guess what? It’s just about average.http://nba-point-forward.si.com/2011...:lol:depressed
That about sums it up - Mr. 6 for 24 in the decision game of last years finals and a paltry 17th all time in NBA PER IS SIMPLY NOT THAT CLUTCH OR EVEN A LEGIT TRUE CLOSER EXCEPT ON RARE OCCASSION HE IS SIMPLY AT BEST AVERAGE!!!!!

LOL 17th and way behind not only Jordan, Shaq, David Robinson and Duncan but also behind Dirk and many other stars today including the great Paul sitting at #8.
No surprise that in this series Paul has outplayed him as well.

By the way House is not far off from reality - having worked in many hospitals it is actually a fine show, taking off from Mash, "St. E" and other fine medical comedy/semi-reality based series.
