Just some random thoughts:
Scotty has really become a caricature of himself with the stupid faces he makes and the re ed way he holds the microphone. I really just don't get this guy. As poor as his performance was, DialIdol has him first as far as I know. I almost wish I didn't like country music because I could just say: Hey I don't like country music so maybe he's good for people that do. Problem is I love country music and get tired of him butchering good songs.
Durbin was good last night. I always say if you're going to pick a song most people have never heard, you'd better sing it well, and I think he did.
Haley on the other hand picked a song from an album that's at the top of the charts right now, which is a lot easier to pull off, even if it's by an amazingly talented singer. I thought she did pretty good, but again it's easier when you already love the song. Couple things I'd change if I could but just nit picking kind of things. In the original for example it ends more abruptly. I know she was going for a big finish, but the song has plenty of big parts, so I would have ended it more abruptly like the original. I think that has a better affect on people and leaves them wanting more.
Also, like she said the emotion of the song is pissed off, but she sang parts of the song as if she was crying out of sadness.
Jacob was good, but I think the studio version is better. The sound guys at Idol seem to continuously do a poor job of mixing and the background music or musicians always wind up being too loud. Maybe it's Jacobs fault for choosing the arrangement and instruments he wanted, but again the studio version is better because the song itself is better when the lyrics and emotion take center stage.
My wife and I had a discussion, and she said well there's only on George Strait, and she's right, but I'm not expecting the guy to be better or even as good as George, but the guy sang that song so poorly it's not even funny.
I was searching around on YouTube and this guy with just a video camera and a guitar blows Scotty away. Sure this guy isn't George Strait either, but you don't have to be, nobody is expecting that.
It also irritated me that he kept saying "Aye love as true as mine" instead of "uh love as true as mine" (best way I can explain it off hand).

I had same vision of himI think Scotty irks me the most out of those remaining. I don't hate him, and I don't think he sucks, but all I still see him as is the dude from Mad Magazine:
I could understand the girls voting for Paul because he's cute (which annoys me, anyway) ... but I don't see the attraction of Scotty. Is it just the low voice? I guess when your 12 that's something you're not used to?
I think he looks like George W's and Alfred Newman's love child.
No, no, no . . . they are terrible. They are like a gayer version of Queen, but with no good songs . . . if you can imagine that.

The same thing with Casey. I just don't understand why this guy is still in this compe ion. The guy in my opinion butchers nearly every song. He can not sing! He may know how to play the guitar and stand up bass, but that shouldn't take priority over singing! People have told me I don't get it b/c he's more of a jazz singer. I like jazz! I guess not his kind.
At least with Casey he's been in the bottom three. Imagine how I feel, Scotty has never been anywhere near the bottom three.

I think Jacob should be the next to go.
From best to worst:
1. Scotty- Nice change up! Good performance. Still had that country flavor in it!
2. Haley- Good performance for me second straight week. Good vocals and kept "growling" to a minimum.
3. James- Good vocals and performance! Would've been really good if not for the screaming towards the end of the song.
4. Jacob- Another good solid performance! The kind that unfortunately many "young kids" don't like.
5. Lauren- I was bored with her performance. That guy who went on stage kind of messed it up for her.
6. Casey- I think Casey's fans are asking themselves, "What the was that"? That was not singing by any means!! That sounded like "growl jazz rapping"! If there's such a thing.
Judges as usual stunk up the place! They praised Casey again, which is ridiculous!!
Bottom three: Jacob, Casey, Haley
Going home: Jacob
My top to bottom for the week would be James, Scotty, Lauren, Haley, Casey and Jacob. I think Jacob will go home too.
I only saw Jacob's and a smidgen of James. I thought they were both good. Jacob's tune had that swang to it. Boy, was the band slammin'.

Jacob should have gone home.
But, I'm really starting to not care about any of them, even before Casey left.
