Just off the top of my head...

Two goaltends, one defensive, one offensive. Both of which were pretty obvious.

Memphis misses a shot early that bounces over the backboard, no whistle, Spurs lose the rebound out of bounds.

Memphis double dribbles, again, prety obvious to me.

End of quarter (don't remember which), Memphis misses the rim and gets a 24 second violation with about three seconds to go, refs don't blow the whistle. Spurs should have had the ball inbounds to get a decent shot.

The sequence with Duncan getting headlocked, and the ref throwing the ball behind Gasol was completely laughable.

Duncan's fourth, fifth and sixth fouls.

This was a fifteen point win that was made much closer than it should have been. This is why teams have to hit their free throws, make smart plays, and take care of the ball.

Thanks. That pretty much is how I recalled it. Apparently home court advantage only applies to the crowd for the Spurs.

-refs have been whistle happy every game
-refs trying to dictate the games outcomes
-refs not consistent what-so-ever

By the way, I remembered the 24 second violation wrong. Battier still had the ball in his hand when the buzzer went off, but they didn't call it. Spurs would have gotten the ball at halfcourt with over three seconds, more than enough time to get a quality shot.

That was ridiculous. You can hear the shot clock buzzer before a shot is even released (Memphis guys was going up to shoot, but hadn't released it IIRC), it doesn't touch the rim, Spurs get the ball and then a second or two later the quarter end buzzer goes off. I was suprised no one argued that.

I've watched the Spurs for a lot of years, and I don't remember home fans getting that angry at the officiating. Ever. This keeps up and we might have our first "ref you suck" chant at AT&T. When that happens, a part of me will die.

Making that call of a jump ball, letting Gasol jump instead of Battier and then throwing the ball up so poorly that Gasol had to turn around to touch it was an embarrassing sequence for the zebras. Gasol has gotten a half dozen calls that weren't even close, and that was in San Antonio.

The play before that, Gary Neal was driving into the paint and Gasol jumped in front of him at the last second. Neal bounced off of him, and instead of getting a blocking call, the refs called Neal for travelling. Those would have been fouls 5 and 6 on Gasol, too. I have to admit, the headlock no-call was choice. Gasol was behind Duncan and had no chance at the ball without going through Duncan's body. Some bad calls I can understand. Some I just can't figure out.

It's not some conspiracy against the Spurs, though. Indiana got screwed out of Game 1. The Knicks got screwed out of Game 1. Denver got screwed out of Game 1 so badly the league office had to admit it publicly. I'm sitting here watching the the Lakers get by with murder, and the refs are obviously having a tough time counting to 3 seconds.

Happens anytime people are watching the game more closely.

To see how real or unreal it is, watch two teams you really don't give a about. That way you can see if the calls are going one way. Bias leads us to see everything going against us, and we ignore the gifts.

Oh, I'm glad you reminded me of that. One of the funniest moments of this season. Pop was about to get T'd, and Duncan came over and acted like he was having a discussion with him, and nodded his head like he'd gotten an answer from Pop.

Then Timmy turned to the ref and said, "He didn't mean it."

It was beautiful. We were laughing our asses off, and I'm guessing the ref probably caught the humor and backed off. I have zero doubt he saved Pop a technical that would have been a big deal with the score so close.

If anybody can get a cliip of it, I would LOVE to have it.

For all that Duncan had to complain, he didn't this one time. And yeah about that free throw, considering how close the game was one free throw could have changed everything if more fluke shots fell for the Grizz.

I'm certain we had one back in Game 2 of the Spurs/Mavs series a few years ago. Actually, I think that might have been a " you ref!" chant. I know we've had at least 1 anti-ref chant at the AT&T Center during the playoffs in the last 5 years.
