Is this good or bad for the Spurs? Hopefully we can get Javie to do a Memphis game since he's usually favorable to the road teams.![]()
Haven't heard of any of these guys. They must be good.
According to sportsbookgurus.com:
Greg Willard: 44-21 (.678) for home team; 34-30-1 home against the spread
John Goble: 46-23 (.667) for home team; 37-32 home ATS
Tom Washington: 38-30 (.559) for home team; 30-37 home ATS
Home teams, on average, won 60.5% of their games this year in the NBA. Willard and Goble are pretty significant homers.
Well, . I was always under the impression that if I don't know a ref's name, they don't have a reputation and they're good. the NBA![]()
I dont wanna see Leon Wood he is terrible!
If there's a crew that's likely to buy into the momentum created by a home crowd, this strikes me as being one. Goble is working only his 4th playoff game ever. Willard is in his 2nd ever as crew chief, though he's called 116 playoff games before this one; but I never have the sense that Willard has control of games and think he's too often engaged in discussions with coaches where he seems to acknowledge that they might be right. Washington has done almost 100 playoff games, but he's basically on the way down -- he reached the level of Finals official in 2008 and 2009, but didn't get there last year and likely won't be there this year.
As I posted elsewhere, the Spurs have done relatively well with Willard (9-4 all-time) but are only 3-2 on the road with him since 1998. They're not even that good with Washington (7-5 all-time) and are only 1-5 in playoff road games with Washington since 1998 (the lone road win was Game 6 of the 2003 West Finals in Dallas).

all in all it does not matter much
I see this crew as inconsistent, plus you have Violet as a reserve ref
