    I think I know what is going on (srs). Pop had to play long season after long season when they were piling up rings. After a while he got burnt out. Once he got the taste of a long quiet summer of good wine and tranquility, he liked it a little too much. Notice how Pop started taking the team overseas for pre-season camp. That wasn't enough. He wants the full summer off.
