I've seen this story before. Reminds me of the Spurs/Suns series when Marbury was the point guard. Yeah it was a tough matchup for the Spurs but they got through and won the le. Now it is the Lakers doing the same.

    Comparing Paul to Marbury

This is totally different because Tim Duncan maximizes talent and Kobe diminishes talent.

Obviously the Lakers are going to win the series, even the Hornets players would probably agree with that..New Orleans without West is one of the 2 worst teams of the playoffs IMO..however, they deserve a lot or credit for sagging their balls, and now the old-ass Lakers have to play extra games, as opposed to sweeping..

    Hornets are better without West.

hornets been offering some tough challenges to the lakers which be appreciable enough. its crystal clear the lakers aren't playin the best games now but i'd still predict a lakers-spurs WCF. Lakers-Spurs matchups always be classic imho. blazers been playin real good recently but i stil don't see em blocking the lakers tbh, lakers will get fine in time & get through the blazers easily imho

As somebody pointed out on the otter channel:

2008 vs Jazz - go home tied 2-2 = Win Series
2009 vs Rockets - go home tied 2-2 = Win Series
2009 vs Nuggets - go home tied 2-2 = Win Series
2010 vs Thunder - go home tied 2-2 = Win Series
2010 vs Suns - go home tied 2-2 = Win Series
2010 vs Celtics - go on road tied 1-1 = Win Series

The "anything can happen" saying should never be used in regards to the NBA..the expected outcome is usually the final outcome..

It's just good to see the Lakers getting an unexpected challenge..this should be their first challenging playoff run in the Gasol-Bryant era..

Typical Lakers series. They'll bounce back, blow the Hornets out in game five, then narrowly escape in game six. We've seen this move before. But the mere fact that the Hornets are taking them to at least six is inexplicable. This isn't about being bored so much as it is about the Lakers continuing to show s in their armor. There's been too many indications this season that they're no longer the same team to just shrug this off and give them the "they're bored" excuse.

You got your series to worry about before celebrating the wear and tear on the Lakers. 6 games minimum on the elder Spurs isn't without merit. However, I think the Lakers have lost the last 3 Sundays they've played on. Good thing Game 7 is on a Saturday.

I would say "I expect them to come out and dominate" but with this squad, you never know .......

I know you're around from here (NY area)... and you just reminded me of something... Did you catch Melo saying "I ain't nostradamus. I don't know what's going to happen" when being interviewed by ABC news before the Celtics series started?

We can't stop cracking up with the wife over here the way he said that. Did you catch it?

We did beat them three times, but that was the Pre-Perkins OKC, which was a very different team. They always had the two elite scorers in Durant and Westbrook, but they are an entirely new beast with Perk in the lineup

    ^ truth

Before Perkins, OKC was a good scoring team, but had no interior defense. That has changed markedly now. I don't know if the Spurs can take 4 of 7 from the Thunder.

LOL @ Gasol 0 for 12 in the playoffs pre-Kobe and Kobe then diminishing his talent.
