one more chance to close this out![]()
Hawks gotta finish this thing on Tuesday night.
one more chance to close this out![]()
ing NHL playoffs, love it.
Wings sweep ('dats right, es) 4-0
Preds advance in the best series of the playoffs, IMO... 4-2
Boston finally shows heart (who knew they had one?) up 3-2
Washington advances (big surprise (sarcasm), NYR is inept offensively) 4-1
Hawks and Canucks....
Haha
Still think Van wins on Tuesday, but thats one way to make it look incredibly difficult to do so.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Philly - Buffalo
WTF is Buffalo even doing in this series? And when oh when does Philly finally commit some $$$ to a goaltender?
Pathetic series, whichever team wins is fodder for the 2nd round.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
San Jose v LA
No idea who wins this series. So up and down, back and forth, completely unpredictable. Stats and lineup says SJ should win this in a walk, especially since Kopitar is out, but thats what happens when 2 divisional teams play one another in a 7 game series. Some horrible goaltending for SJ here, whereas Quick has been awesome. Love me some Wayne Simmonds, btw.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pitt vs Tampa
Worst series of the playoffs, no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Two terribly flawed teams battling it out for who sucks less. 2nd round fodder.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
All in all an awesome playoffs.
DR with the goods![]()
This quote just screams that Sidney Crosby is the single biggest thing the NHL has going for it.
Just curious...what do you considered "terribly flawed" on the Pens, besides the obvious Crosby/Malkin injuries???
The fact that they have to (understandably) go into a defensive s in order to compete.
...and no, that statement doesnt mean anything about Crosby. Ive been watching hockey since 1991, Ive had CenterIce almost every year since Ive been on my own (1999-ish), I watch more hockey in a month than most fans do in an entire year.
I come home and hockey goes onto the television as background noise every single day, all day. I watch two things; 1. hockey 2. movies. Really nothing else.
Crosby means nothing to me, Malkin means nothing to me. But they mean a whole uva lot to the Pens and without almost $16 million dollars in offense for the Pens, theyre ed even if they barely squeeze by a flawed, hapless Tampa Bay team.
If the Pens were playing anyone else, theyd be golfing by now.
Jumbo Joe scores in OT! I'm rooting for the Sharks to make it out of the West. Jumbo Joe is like the Dork Nowitzki of the NHL. Supremely talented, but his teams just have a hard time getting it done in the postseason.
We mss him in Montral
2002 and 2004
Good times
"Dork Nowitzki"
lol autocorrect
I don't care how much hockey you watch or how long you've watched it. That has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Sidney Crosby is the heartbeat of the NHL and THE reason why fans as yourself consider the Pens/Lightning series a bore fest. If Crosby was playing the Pens would be on national TV every game. That's a fact. You even said it yourself...that the Pens have "no redeeming qualities whatsoever". Well, Crosby is the single biggest redeeming quality in the NHL, which is why I made that statement.
No, I still dont agree. I think, specifically, the Penguins as a team have no redeeming offensive qualities outside Crosby and Malkin, which makes any series they participate in a complete bore.
If Malkin were in the lineup, the series would be interesting.
If Crosby were in the lineup, the series would be interesting.
Since neither (or both) are in the series, the series absolutely sucks to watch because the only way the Penguins can compete is to play a hybrid leftwing lock/trap. It sucks, its not fun to watch and Tampa was playing so bad in the first 3 games, they couldnt beat it.
When Jordan Staal is your #1 center, your team sucks and isnt fun to watch. Its like watching Nashville when Legwand was their #1 center. Its like taking Datsyuk and Zetterberg out of the Wings lineup, Plekanec and Gomez out of Montreal (who plays a boring style regardless), Thornton and Pavelski...
Actually, for the Pens, its worse than that since both of their centers are 2 of the Top5 in the league (for me, Crosby #1 and Malkin #5)...and theyre paying them accordingly.
So, you can go ahead and think its the Crosby factor, and I'll still say it isnt. Its the subtraction of both him and Malkin which forces a flawed Pitt team to play a God-awful system just to hang around other NHL teams.
Darkreign is my new God
And yes, Montreal can be boring at times, I agree
Speaking of the Habs, they are done; Boston is closing the series out tonight
No Markov, no Georges, no Pacioretty, and now no Desharnais (this kid is something)
You've still got PK Subban!
Love the new avatar, btw![]()
Thanks
Yeah Subban.....Subban vs Bruins... it should be enough
If CP3 can win singlehandedly against the Bruins...
On a more serious note, who do you think snags the Norris trophy? Lidstrom or Chara?
Lol @ CP3
Lidstrom of course
Chara has been great, him and I hope he breaks his leg, but he has been great
However, I will have to go with Captain Nick
Damn it! I meant against the Lakers. My brain sucks in this thread.
Lidstrom will probably win it. I think that the other sports teams all sacrificed their ability to win in order to gift perpetual awesomeness to the Red Wings.
And Chris s the Habs
... Once again
It was a ing valid goal
Just Google Chris Lee Habs
Our penalty kill has gone to crap.
Then again, we have been in the penalty 3x as much as the Habs.
Buffalo has failed to match the intensity. What are the saving it for? Getting dominated. This game is over and the third hasn't started. How do you work so hard to not go balls to the wall in the last game?
Game 7 is tomorrow ??????????
How re ed is the NHL ??????![]()
What, really? At least we were in Montreal, and not Vancouver.
Assuming that the Bruins aren't in the penalty for half the game again, I think Boston can pull it off.
Yeah good thing they won't be in a plane for 5 hours
By the way, is too many men on the ice a tradition in Beantown?
1979, 2010 and tonight![]()
