Maybe we can offer Splitter to offload the Bonner contract, as LJ said a long time ago...![]()
We had a chance to say good-bye and you and instead we'll see 3 more years of this .
This team declines started when Bonner become a rotation player
sad![]()

after a chokefest like tonight these guys will go to their nice homes and eat the finest dinners. well deserved fellas.![]()
we should bring back all the morons that said RJ was a bargain, because we would pay much more if he hadn't opt out. And that our FO did the right thing by resigning him.
They just forgot to mention that RJ is a bad fit in this team. I don't ing care if the Spurs would pay the tax this year, as long as i would not see this soft got once again next season.
Now we have to watch this 3 more years.
I won't talk about Bonner. We've seen the whole movie so many times. Great regular season, then playoff performances. But we're dumb and our FO is smart to know what's good for this team ..
bla bla bla ..
Don't be surprised to see Jefferson and Blair packaged in a trade this off-season.
Just saying.
I really don't want to see RJ on the Spurs next year. It's so damn sad because I was probably the most excited about the trade. I loved what the FO did and it made sense. It just turned out about as bad as it could have.
I can't believe the Spurs resigned either of these two non-performing role players.
That's one of their key issues - having players that don't serve a purpose.
THIS
I would have rather brought back Bogans and Mason for cheap for a season. In fact, RJ and Bonner were our two worst playoff performers in 2010. I don't count Bogans and Mason because they barely played.
The front office acted like it was a necessity to bring both of these guys back, like it was resigning Manu and Tony.
and guess who is paying fot those dinners
It's still hard to believe that the Spurs had a chance last off-season to dump these 2 dead weights. IT was right there in there hands to do so, but nope! They not only re-signed them but signed them to a long term contract! It's mind boggling.
Very true. Pop's grand plan of turning Bonner into Horry and RJ into SJax was never going to work out. This is what frustrates me most about Pop: he hopes that veterans will suddenly change their skills/behavior, but won't believe that rookies can develop new skills/behavior.
It's going to be difficult to unload those two contracts, but it has to be done. Maybe if Phoenix has a fire sale . . . RJ/Bonner for Hill/Gortat?
, I don't know. This is depressing to think about.
^This.
Pop is really an unusual bird on stuff like this.
I'm willing to give anyone 10 to 1 odds on any bet that Jefferson won't be here for 3 more years.
People are unaware on the size and length of Blair and Hill's contracts. With their salary value to go up at least 500-600% (when their rookie contracts expire), the Spurs will most likely look to move one or both of them if they don't intend to pay them. (Remember how they just gave Tony a 4 year-50 million dollar extension; he plays PG btw).
This off-season will be the perfect time to package Blair with Jefferson FWIW.
So any takers?
Just no, please. NOOOOOO.
You're talking about a guy that, 3 seasons later, is still trying to make Hill into a point guard, when he's been a SG all his life...
4 more years! 4 more years!!!
it, you jerk offs. I hope you're happy not making the playoffs.
If only we hadnt signed them to those contracts
Hill is better than Jefferson and Gortat was one of the best centers in the Western Conference after the deal
Where is chazley? Need more Bonner defending to bring balance to this thread...
Novak :/(well maybe he will get lucky on defensive plays), and Splitter time![]()
The Bonner contract goes right up there with Jackie Butler and Rasho Nestorvic signing as complete abortions. Pop went from valuing size, defense, rebounding and intelligence to now preferring soft play, three-point shooting and gutlessness. Who is realistically going to trade for Ronald McDonald with a three-point shot??????
