I don't know man. There's not a lot of good directions for this team to go. Perhaps hope Duncan opts out and resigns for less to give the team some financial relief? Package Dice's unguaranteed deal with Hill for another piece?
TD deserves all the money of his last year and much more for all he gave to the franchise and the fans.

TD took less money in his last contract and the Spurs gave that money to Jefferson and Bonner

We? Us? How many people are in your ing head?

With this personnel, exactly what game plan would have held up? Before the season everyone said we couldn't win 50 games.
I'm talking about when the Spurs were like 29-4 and people were talking about 70 wins(lol) while completely overlooking the fact that the type of basketball that was being played has never EVER held up in the playoffs. Was it fun? Sure...but if you want fun go root for the Warriors. I'd rather see this team try to put one more trophy in the case.

Three more years. Perhaps I can do something to avoid suicide during that stretch.

Unlike you I don't enjoy the Spurs losing even if its reality. Thats the point. I don't deny you're right about the Spurs and you obviously have been all year. I just think your thread shows how much of a fan you really are and puts you on a level with Mavs and Lakers trolls.

Its obvious to Spurs fans that this is reality. The difference is we're not happy about it.

This is the most disturbing thing. Bonner failed in every playoff game he played and was rewarded with a 3 year deal.

RJ was a good gamble but after one year it was clear it would not work in the Spurs system, rewarded with a 3 year deal.

We would be better with a Dice/TD/Tiago/Blair rotation and any and I repeat any FA guy who could shoot from the corner, even R.Butler

And now we have 3 more year of Jefferson and Bonner

    I just can't believe

We all knew the ending when Bonner and RJ were given longterm deals. You just don't do things like that.

Bad luck health-wise tbh and they were never the same after Duncan and Ginobili endured their injuries near the end of the season. Its no surprise that the Spurs needed to at least be healthy in order to compete in the playoffs which they haven't been since the last trophy.

In hindsight they got too beat up towards the end of he regular season to stand much of a chance. Anyone remember McDyess tweaking his knee a handful of times as well? Plus that stinger in game 3.

Not sure wtf is wrong with Parker though. I've been eating crow about his play all season and then he puts on a Grizz uniform in the playoffs....I hate to also tip-toe into the "told you so" crowd but man Parker has regressed the most of the Big 3 in the past couple of seasons when it comes to playoffs time and he's just 28 years old and he seems healthy this year and the healthiest of the big 3.

Here's hoping for the Spurs to turn it around. No one really thought the Spurs would be the top seed in the West and I bet few though they'd be down 1-3 to the Grizz without Rudy Gay.

Again...I never said I enjoyed it. You have interpreted this thread how you wish to interpret it. I've been asking fans to wake up all year. This thread is merely the call to those fans who choose to bury their heads in the sand. Even going into the playoff they refused to accept it. If they had spent more time looking at history and less time chasing bubbles blown out of a stick with a circle on the end then they would be able to take a more even approach to what is happening...as I am now. Am I coming across a bit harsh? You bet your ass I am. Tough love seems to be the only thing some people will respond to.

I don't know why you are even trying to defend yourself at this point...Spurs homerism blinded most posters here all year, no way they admit incompetence after a loss like this...you would be better off making this thread a week after the Spurs are knocked out.

Just for the record, I'm not on your level. Since I started posting here several years ago I have never seen a poster that enjoyed watching his team lose as much as you do. My history speaks for itself. I post here in the best and worst of times...from the end of the season through the draft all the way up until now. You only show up when they lose and revel in it. Do me a favor and piss off.

Whatever makes you feel better...If you don't want to be mad at your team for playing like , next best thing is to spew venom on those that had it right all along...

Unfortunately, "we" are all in the same boat here. There has been some blatant homerism, some focused optimism, some dubious cynicism and some blatant negativity, but nobody was right about everything. Nobody.
We are all fans of the same team and none of us should feel above anyone else as far as that goes.

I think the team got the best mileage possible out of the personnel. Memphis was the worst possible first round match-up. And a big part of the problem, as I have said all season long, hs been the veteran players doing stupid in crunch time.

You have a point that putting up lots of points, and not playing solid defense is not a recipe for playoff success. But I never thought the lack of defense was from a lack of interest in playing defense, or a lack of coaching defense by Pop. Are you saying that he doesn't know how to coach D? Or that he should have coached the offense better? He's never been innovative on the offensive end. But weren't you saying that offense isn't going to win a championship?

So what really is the point?
