Apparently nobody else will - even the coach.
The coach's mental for ude is as much in question as the rest of the team's, honestly.

Not playing Hill in 09 and now Splitter in 11 are two verifiable coaching mistakes on his part, due to stubbornness concerning players inexperienced at the NBA level.

I do believe the great Timvp once said Pop can't coach PGs (or backup PGs). The reality is, he simply can't coach players inexperienced at the NBA level. Players with little experience need time (IE seasons) to adjust, and Pop never lets them.

This is what Spurs need more of right now. Players with heart need to be getting in their teammates and coaches face and call them out. Last game Timmy should have been all over pop demanding him to put him in the game in the second half. Stop acting like best buddies, and fearing at stepping on each other toes!!!

Sure wish we had a Mario Elie type of guy on this team right now. He would be owning some es on this current team.

    No guts no glory!

I'll call it like I see it: Tim Duncan is old. The Spurs, when they needed a basket, did not have a go-to guy during that early second half burst by Memphis. That's not going to change.

And I hope I eat crow.

A guard who leads the NBA in FG% (for guards) should be a somewhat consistent go-to guy. He hasn't been at all that thus far.

Tim Duncan isn't even supposed to be that guy anymore. It's up to Tony and Manu to be that guy when we badly need a score and it has been for sometime now.

There's no post presence for the Spurs. The last team that had playoff success without that was...

Well than we need to lower our expectations. He doesn't have to be the go-to guy, he can't be having the sort of games he's been having though. He's gotta be a consistent 16-17 ppg guy.

I disagree. Tim is still a great finisher around the basket, provided he gets the ball in a good position (see first half of G1). Additionally, he's been, at times, dominant defensively during this very series.

Umm Duncan still has post presence. He isn't going to put up 20 and 15 anymore but the guy definitely has post presence still and the first 3 games of this series he was averaging 16 pts 11 rebs. That definitely classifies as a post presence.... Memphis is still sending double teams his way as well.

Duncan is not a *consistent* presence though. And I'm talking about offense. Sure, he has games like game 1, but not at a consistent rate. Parkers been even more though. Those two guys need to step it up. Not just 1 of them. Both.

Before last game he was averaging 16 pts 11rebounds for this series. Definitely enough from him. Who needs to lower there expectations? If you haven't come to terms that Duncan is 35 years old then you definitely need to. He isn't supposed to be the go to guy anymore and hasn't been for awhile now.

My main point is he can't deliver like he used too and I'm not sure Parker was ever the guy you could demand the things this team are demanding of him.

Agreed, but he's delivering the post presence you say does not exist the same or better than the likes of Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol in this very same playoffs.

and I'm not sure Parker was ever the guy you could demand the things this team are demanding of him.
I don't think his season averages are too much to ask.

He isn't being asked to deliver like he used to is the point and what he has been giving on the offensive side of the ball is more then enough (not counting game 4 of course)

We are a guard oriented team now and have been for quite sometime, that doesn't mean we don't have a post presence because we do but it's up to our guards to take us where we want to be.

And for all the Dice doubters/haters out there. That was an epic battle in the low blocks tonight. I remember some other big man performances from the past, like Malik taking on Shaq. But I don't ever remember a more brutal performance than what Dice did tonight. He deserves some kind of medal. It may not show up in the stats, but every time I looked up there was Dice locked up with Randolph. And not just wrestling. It was like two NFL linemen, or sumo wrestlers or something. Epic.
