Probably a good move as there is no PG in free agency this summer that is clearly better. And if their eyes are still on either CP3 or Deron Williams, then Chauncey's contract expires when they become free agents and perhaps more importantly the expiring contract might be used in a deal to get CP3 if the Hornets feel like they need to trade him or lose him for nothing.

Gotta wait till 2012 Summer for the other great stars to become FA's. Not a bad move by NY. If all else fails, a lot of teams would be lining up for a 14 million expiring.
