Agree on Adebayor running wrecklessly, and Pepe being the biggest sucking got.

Both sides were equally responsible for creating that heated atmosphere with all that pathetic flopping, calling for cards at every opportunity etc. So it was pretty clear that the first hard challenge would result in a red card. Hence Real shouldn't complain too much (as I'm certain they will), because they are to blame for setting up this whole situation as well as Barca is.

Apart from that, Real didn't do enough attacking-wise. Yes, I get it that they wanted Barca to commit to playing forward and thereby getting opportunities for their great counter attacking game, but it didn't work, and Real failed to adjust to that.

Well, at least the brillant second goal by Messi provided a football-related highlight after all that flopping and complaining.

Saw this on another site and I agree. Barca's diving was out of control and more tha usual but the soccer equivalent of "4 corners" tactics played by Mourinho is complete unsportsmanlike bull too.

    "
I was taking a slight jab at Madrid with that comment, but if you think about it not really far from the truth. In the liga game they went to 10 men and it didn't effect them as they already had everyone behind midfield all the time anyway. What hurt them here was losing Pepe in the midfield. He's the difference maker for that team.

I'm surprised not one of you has given Madrid for not even playing the game. Sitting back like that isn't futbol and should be banned in a similar way basketball ins uted the shot clock to keep teams from just sitting on the ball for the whole game. That's a pussy way to play and people should be bashing the out of Mourinho for doing it. I've watched every Barca game this season except 2 and this was more diving and blatant diving than I've seen from them. I wonder if it isn't being done to this extreme as a retaliation against the pussy tactics of Mourinho."

I'm not even necessarily against people playing defensive tactics against Barca and waiting for the counter-attack. Barca's gameplan is to completely control ball possession and they do so almost annoyingly like I've said before. You can't then complain when you're intent on having the ball and your opponent won't allow you to penetrate their defense.

By beef with RMD was that it wasn't working and should've switched it up. They weren't making any opportunities period. Of course Mourinho claims they were about to switch it up before the red card

    Mourinho: Barca are in final

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has conceded that his side have no chance of reaching the Champions League final after a 2-0 first-leg defeat to rivals Barcelona at the Bernabeu.

Mourinho was sent to the stands in a tempestous game that saw Barcelona subs ute goalkeeper Pinto sent off at half-time, before Madrid midfielder Pepe was dismissed for a tackle on Javier Mascherano. Lionel Messi exploited the space to claim a late brace and now Mourinho feels his side are out of the tie.

"The return game is mission impossible,'' he told the press after the game. ''Barcelona has qualified for the final. Sometimes I feel disgusted about this football world of ours. Yes, we have already been knocked out.

''We had the intention to keep the game at 0-0, then bring on a striker, then a third phase with a No. 10 behind three forwards. But the ref didnt allow it.''

Mourinho continued his post-match rant by targeting Barcelona's record in the compe ion, most notably their win over Chelsea in the semi-final in 2009.

''I would be ashamed if I was Barca how they won Champions League in 2009,'' he said. ''It was the scandal of Stamford Bridge. This is the scandal of the Bernabeu.

"I don't know if it's because of Villar, the UNICEF publicity or what, but I don't understand why this keeps happening. No one has any chance against Barca. Where does all this power come from? To win like this is very nasty.

"What did I say to the referee? Nothing, I just laughed. If I say what I feel now, my career ends. I just wonder why."

Cristiano Ronaldo, who was largely anonymous as an attacking presence during the game and showed visable frustration with the way Madrid were playing said: "Do I like to play in a defensive team like Madrid? No, but I have to adapt to what the coach wants.

"Playing against 10 men isn't easy. 0-0 would have been a good result. 2-0 is very difficult. Messi played very well, but it's easier against ten."

and @ Mourinho crying that no team ever has a chance against Barca. He wasn't crying when Inter beat them last year. No, everything was right with the world then. He can go himself.

What a . He comes up with a fluke win using cheap tactics and he gets pissed when someone else uses cheap tactics to bust his ass.

I have no problem with defensive futbol, I have a problem with keeping 11 behind midfield and just trying to dump the ball and chase. If the offense can't put a man behind the defense before the pass the defense shouldn't be allowed to have 11 packing it's end.

I don't particularly like Mourinho's approach, but nobody can argue that it wasn't effective up to the point Pepe got himself thrown off. Physical, defensive football and relying on the counter seems to be the only way Barca's midfield can be neutralized. Can't blame Mourinho for realizing this. Yeah, its ugly as all , but it seems to work.

Now, you can't have it both ways. If you play physical football like Real did today, letting someone like Pepe run around dishing it out to his hearts content you can't act all ing surprised when he gets thrown out for it.

Yeah the flopping was disgusting to the point of being shameful, but both teams did it, so no one gets a pass on that.

The fact of the matter is Real went in looking for a tie or a miracle goal on the counter and they couldn't find it. Their tactic backfired today and they are all butt hurt about it.

Mou really needs to learn to keep his mouth shut though. I swear, most annoying piece of on the planet.

I can't bealive Mourinho is crying about the refs when he should have ended the game with 7 men:

-Red card to Pepe was fair, I sill can't bealive people are ing about it. If Alves wouldn't have had the leg in the air, Pepe might have broken it.

-Adebayor punching Busquets in the face.

    -Marcelo stepping over Pedro.

-And Ramos should have been booked in the first half for stopping a counter with a hand ball and then the yellow he got for the foul on Messi.

Barca won because they were/are better, not because of the refs.

now you're pushing it. Pepe's was a red and Adebayor's could well have been, but the others would have been just as bull as Real claiming they deserved none.

Didn't you see Marcelo stepping over Pedro? Agression without the ball = Automatic red card.

And stopping a counter with a hand ball is an automatic yellow, then with the foul he comitted over Messi (for which he got a yellow) he should hve been sent off, pretty simple.

If Manchester vs. Barcalona happens, it's going to be an epic match. I think I said a couple of weeks ago that Manchester is the only team I can see knocking off Barca in CL. Of course, Man Utd can eat a , but they've had an amazing season.

oh please, you can't possibly expect every little bit of aggression off the ball be a red card. That's borderline moronic. The ref isn't going to give an automatic red card for stepping on someone in a game like this.

and if we're on the topic of what should have been, Barca deserved quite a lot of yellows for blatant unsportsmanlike acting. Alves and Pedro looked like Venezuelan soap opera stars out there.

You can harp on the blatant foul by Pepe and Adebayor, anything else if just crap.

If you try to hit somebody off the ball, you have to get a red card even if you don't hit him. It's the intention what counts.

But on this case it wasn't only the intention, Marcelo stepped over Pedro and got him injured, Pedro had to be subs uted, what "little agression" are you talking about?
