Could someone verify that Mike Taylor is actually a Mavs fan? I'm still unclear about this.
Look at his resume. I remember his last day at 103.3 when Galloway and Co were laughing about him going to San Antonio. I didn't make up the crater-face thing.
Maybe if a few more people could come in this thread and say "Mike Taylor is a Mavs fan." that would really clarify the issue for me. Then, of course, I would have to ask why Spurs fans would listen to him if this is true. You know what . . . this is turning into a big can of worms that I really don't give a about. Never mind.

Sorry you're too ing lazy to use Google, your highness...
I missed game react but maybe he was trying to be "real" about the Spurs chances! Again, I didn't hear the segment. But I bet Paul Alexander will be saying the same thing. That the fans shouldn't get excited b/c the Grizzlies will still win the series.

Nah he sounded upset that the Spurs season wasnt over just yet. And then the calls came in, calling him out and it was just him defending himself and telling us why the Spurs suck the rest of the time.

He's a Mavs fan, who covers the Spurs for a San Antonio radio station because that's part of his job. He's vocal about being a Mavs fan; it's not a secret or anything.

Which is the worst part of him and also why it is such a downer that the "powers that be" allow him to do SPURS radio.
I honestly thought that the Spurstalk Army was behind it. Just call after call after call about what a he is. Neither the best nor brightest callers The Tone has to offer, but effective nonetheless.
"Whatever, hater. Whaaaaaatever, HATER!"
It was actually quite amusing.
Taylor bashes Dallas all the time..says he HATES the Mavs because he can't stand Jason Terry, but especially can't stand Mark Cuban...guess I missed something...yeah, his react tonight was bogus..but dude bashes on Dallas constantly.

Every caller was drunk off his ass and still jabbing.
Yes I heard the show too. The guy made so many references about clutch shots in mavs games and how he used to cover the mavs. The guy made so many prejudice and discriminating insults to the callers "drunk fans from public schools" and anybody from the west side who wants him out should get their own radio show. Lol this jerk is from dallASS, how the he'll does he know about the west side of San Antonio. I'm really shocked we have this guy hosting the show.
lol man i missed him gettin' shat on..t hat would've been great.. but yea mike taylor's a bag hands down.. i've stopped listening to 760 after i couldn't take anymore of him.. dude sounds annoying and has no knowledge of basketball.. just a babbler.. i still <3 jessica the intern tho
How can someone who claims they are from San Antonio,or post at SpursTalk, or who claims to be a Spurs fan not know about the only "Spurs" react after game show in San Antonio?
He is just hoping the Spurs lose so that his Mavs will not be the only 1 seed to fall to an 8 seed in a 7 game series, he always seems to throw in Mavs references and that bit with some dude they call nasty boy and him (nasty boy) hating the Spurs is not very convincing with Taylor trying to defend the Spurs, dude obviously wants back in Dallas so I say see ya ese!

Ever since Andrew Ashwood left the show seem to go down hill fast. It's a shame Tim Merriman let his ego get in the way of producing a great Sports show. (keep in mind I didn't say a show with high ratings) Program directors are after ratings not what is best for the listeners or viewers. That is why Glenn Beck lasted so long.
I feel like having to tell someone who is a supposed to be a huge NY Knicks fan where the statue of Liberty is but here goes......
760AM is a Sports radio show that is local in San Antonio and they cover the Spurs games and have a show after the games call React.
Unfortunately Mike Taylor after coming from Dallas to take over a show that should be done by someone from San Antonio tried to act like a huge Spurs fan when he wasn't even finished packing yet and many listeners knew right off the bat he could not be trusted, myself included.
If only he would have just admitted he was a Dallas Maverick fan and used to call coach Pop names and make fun of the overweight San Antonio Spur fans he would have at least earn our respects. And in time he could say he is starting to like the Spurs and people in this town love to see outsiders become Spurs fans.
San Antonio is made up of many transplant people from all over the country who made the Spurs they're second team. And many eventually made the Spurs they're only team.
But Mike Taylor kept up the "hey esse" I am Primo Spurs fan...like he lived here all his life.....it didn't go over to well when his show was 90% Dallas Cowboys 9% cheesy humor and 1% Spurs talk. Most of the Ticket 760AM listeners were regular fans who knew all about Don Harris, Chris Duel, Jeff Vexler, Kori Ellis,Wally ,etc....
So the show became lame and it opened the door for ESPN the Zone were it's done by "local" Spur fans and they have Don Harris, Kori Ellis,Jay Howard, and many Spurs players who call in everyday. The show is 90% Spurs 5% Cowboys and 5% quality humor.
do the math.
sports grind is the best show on the radio and s all over taylor chris duel npr the beat 99.5 kiss and all the other bs out there. grinders keep it real and are funnier and more knowledgeable than 99% of the people out there.

I don't think Jay Howard is from San Antonio but I get your point. I just wanted to point out that Don Harris, Paul Alexander said on radio that the Spurs had very little chance of winning gm 5. They believe the Spurs will lose and even if they win gm 5, the Spurs won't have enough to win in Memphis. As for the 1250The Zone, I think it's 50% crappy humor, 50% Spurs, Cowboys, misc.
