Neat!
Neat!
I love Tarsem Singh as a director, so I've been looking forward to this one, but it doesn't look quite up to level of either The Cell or The Fall in visuals.
Oh lawd. Time to get my 300 fix on.
I'm a huge Tarsem fan too, but the trailer seems to lack any emotion or the colours that I enjoy watching. Looks like the studio ed with him to make it look like 300 aka a lifeless, drab, on-the-rails film. I wanted epic scope, the sets look like crap and the world looks too contained despite being about the heavens and "war on the whole world" or whatever. Meh.
300 was epic, not lifeless brah. This is exactly how they should do the Iliad imo.
I think Stringer was specifically talking about the colors. I thought 300 was quite beautiful (though the overuse of CGI bothered me) and was a good adaption of Frank Miller's drawings, but the colors in that film were almost completely desaturated.
Looks like they're doing the same thing with this one.
These are screenshots from The Fall:

And these are from The Cell:

Desaturated colors aren't usually his thing.
Uhh the Spartacus TV series was way better than that turd.
