A second year Gary Neal, a second year Tiago, a second year James Anderson, Da'Sean Butler, Ryan Richards, maybe Nando de Colo to whomever they draft pick.

Now we just need to figure out how to trade Jefferson and Bonner.

Orlando took back Hedo. Maybe Toronto will take Bonner back?

I'd be much more excited if that youth was in the form of a polished defensive minded 6'8" or 7' player.

    No, not really..

Splitter, yes, he could be a starter, with some development and adjustment to the NBA..

I like Anderson, but he's already injury prone..he's good when be plays..

Neal is good, but he's not "young", and he doesn't play "young"..he's a good 8th man..

Hill still has the potential to be a great 6th man, Blair has the potential to be a good 4th big..

Not that exciting, IMO..Spurs don't have a young player with the potential to be a top 3 option, they don't have any perimeter defender prospects, and they don't have a prospect in the form of an athletic big to compliment Duncan and Splitter..

You skipped three of the names I listed and added two names I didn't list.

And how is Anderson injury prone? Because he got injured once this season? Freak injury took him out for most of the season.

As for Neal, he's young, 26/27 isn't "old".

I'm not particularly excited about it.

By and large, the young guys on the Spurs roster have mostly proven to be not-ready-for-prime-time as role players, and I don't honestly see great amounts of room for improvement in any of the young guys. I think the ceiling on virtually all of them is "average role player" and if you focus more upon how they'll perform at playoff time, I think the ceiling is even lower than that.

Awwww but Tiago did show flashes of good defense and knack for drawing the foul. If he can hit his Freethrows and get a post game he will be alright.

I only listed two guys who saw minutes in the playoffs. I'm not talking about Blair and Hill, I'm talking about Butler, Anderson, Richards, Colo, Whoever we draft.

Maybe we trade for some youth this summer.

Nope...none of them are able to carry a franchise, just nice role players...I'll be excited when we get another lottery pick.

No, I'm not excited. Splitter is a decent C but we have no young all-star caliber player.

Oh No that would mean another year like 1996-1997 where we went 20-62. NEVER NEVER NEVER want that again. NO

I would prefer that over 10 years of mediocrity and competing for 8th seeds...only to keep picking in the 14-20 range in the draft. We would basically turn into the Indiana Pacers after Miller retired...

Don't count on De Colo. He has regressed since last year.

Bonner isn't difficult to trade. His contract is fine for a player of his level. OTOH, RJ is nearly impossible to trade.

That's what they said about Hedo and he was traded twice last season.

A 6'8" defender is only useful if you have a dominant big already. Duncan is still capable of giving 17 and 8, but he doesn't dominate any longer.

As bad as he was, we didn't lose to the Grizz because of Richard Jefferson.

We need to take one more stab at it with those guys playing, plus one more big.

Well, RJ can be traded for another bad player with a bad contract or by packaging him with assets.

Hedo was a gamble. They were hoping to get back the Hedo that took Orlando to the NBA finals. They didn't.
