    IMO Perkins is over-rated, an over-blown role player, a cog in the wheel, and not the defensive anchor that some claim. Yes, his presence would have helped the Celtics, but he's not a difference maker.

    The issue with the Celtics is that they don't have a go-to player (sound familiar, Spurs?). Pierce thinks he's a go-to player, and he may have fulfilled that role in '08 somewhat, but he's not up for it anymore. The Celtics chief offensive weapon seems to be running Allen off of 4 illegal screens.

    Celtics still have plenty of "go-to players" ray Allen can still shoot with the best of them. Pierce is being Pierce, he'll have one ugly ass game then come back and play like a guy with a chip on his shoulder. KG still has an occassional flash of brilliance offensively. He did that aginst the Knicks in Game 3.

    Celtics miss that big body down low. Perkins is a little bit overrated defensively, but his size does give the Celtics an extra physical presence in the post. And he's great in boxing out players, better than Nenad that's for sure.

    Celtics biggest advantage before the trade was their size. KG, Big Baby's load was easier because Perkins was there to do the intangibles for them.
