Good win mavs fans !!! I'm pretty happy about that tbh, Dirk deserves a ring before retiring.
Didn't see the game, Rodrigue is out of the rotation or injured ? he didn't log any minute.
Inactive to have Brewer active. RC said itīs between those 2 in this series...
ok thanks for the info.
maybe at home Roddy will be active
Once adjustments are made, Phil Jackson will prove to be the much better coach.
Now once again Phil has lost the adjustment arena. He's a game back. Ostensibly that puts him one shy at the end. He let Carlisle run 'em off last night. Carlisle was prepared, fully. Phil was not. Now Phil has to catch Carlisle's farts.
First game of a series is always the hardest to know the right adjustments to make. After that, the coaches have some footage to make the adjustments rather than just looking at paper. Game 2 is probably the biggest adjustment game of the series. If the Lakers aren't able to adjust by then, they are in trouble. But I expect the zen master to figure it out like he usually does.
Carlisle had no problem whatsoever. He had the perfect game plan start to finish. Never a false move, or, hesitation in execution or subs ution:::playing Dirk heavy minutes without regard to matchup, or, condition/using the extended and added TO's to rest him. Putting Kidd on Kobe late was ingenius. Not closing his eyes and hoping Stevenson would do better, instead inserting Brewer without fear of failure.
Phil got his ass handed to him last night.
It was a guessing game in the first game. Carlisle made the right decisions though I think it was luck that he did. As like I said, the teams haven't matched up in a long time. Lakers usually get better as the series goes along for a reason. Phil does a great job studying footage.
Luck, my ass. If it hadn't worked I'd be topsy & you'd be turvy this morning. He won. He couldn't do better than that.
You don't have to be apologetic in the sight of excellence, 1000. Even at loss I can appreciate the beauty and precision of Carlisle's preparation and execution last night. In a vacuum it was astonishing to behold. It was much like Hollins prep for the Spurs, cept one can cite Hollins cheated. Carlisle did not. His work was pure & chaste and should be honored.
how the did the stars "perfectly" align?
I dont even think LA had an off game, we took a pretty good shot from them and prevailed. Kobe was brilliant.
O YE OF LITTLE FAITH!
Boiled down:::::
Dirk 1
Kobe 0

I'm a trend setter.
I set trends.
Look at spurfan in here. Trying to make themselves feel better after The Shame.
mavs just stole a game from LA but the series ain't done yet. also in the lakers-hornets series the lakers were also the trailer at first, but after 3 games they took back control of the series and ended up winning it. lakers will get back on track in time and qualify imho, lakers in 6
It doesn't feel right. Granted, it didn't feel right after Game 1 Vs the Hornets either. It's just reckless to again face this danger. If we lose tomorrow night it's over. And Dallas knows that. And Carlisle, as preemptive as he was last night will mostly likely go for it with all his might.
That was a great game played by the mavs, without a doubt their frontline can more than hold their own against the lakers bigs, and isn't intimidated in the least. If lakers can't take advantage of their size and length, bean will start chucking again and more than likelly shoot the lakers out of the series.
