Just because you have a great team doesn't mean you are the best player. Pistons and Celtics both won rings and neither have the "best" player. It's a team game. But the Mavs rely way too much on Dirk while the Lakers almost do better when Kobe is not shooting as much.

But, the line has always been the NBA Championship. That's where we drew it when Daddy couldn't win one back in the '90's. Remember? Media took off after him, and we're just about ready to high tech lynch him when he cut 'em off at the pass in the Indy Finals. So then after Daddy & Kobe divorced you all figured to run Kobe nuts. Uh, uh. he then went Back-2-Back, thus cutting the road.

Dirk is fortunate:::he's a white man and Media will ins utionally protect him, ringless as he is.

But, I ain't Media, and Dirk is gonna ring afore I pull outta his ass. And that's just the way it's gonna be.

What was good for Daddy & Kobe, is right & proper for everybody else.

You obviously don't know basketball. You glomp on to that ring topic and forget to the analysis. Kobe had Shaq. Kobe had Gasol. Dirk had ? It's basically a mismatch of 2 against 1. Dirk can't do it all. He is the closest to anyone winning a le without having a sidekick. Jordan had Pippen. Before Pippen, Jordan's team sucked. Alright maybe Olajuwon did it without a sidekick but he had a bunch of shooters around him.

Because that was the line I was taught in the early '80s, when I couldn't break thru Vs. Boston. Well, Magic comes along and breaks that lock and freed me to ride high & wide in perpetual vengeance. And until I go into the dust that is always the end, I'm gonna extract vengeance from every nocker who ain't rang.

    All my love,

    - Pappy

    Bynum or Dirk?...
Dirk by a mile. The Mavs would be a basement team without him.

Yup...but that's the team, not just one player. The Lakers are the superior team. They would've won easily last night but for Kobe.

No. Gasol couldn't win a playoff game till he got with Kobe.

Kobe has rung twice without Daddy. Conversely Daddy has rung only once without Kobe.

    The constant? Kobe.

LOL people are giving dirk his props and he deserves this but he needs to close 3 more games before i buy it. Sure Kobe has the better coach but Mavs have the better bench and Dirk has an aging but effective HOF's and 2 7 footers ...no excuses. he has home-court. if he is the best player in this series, he should win.

Kidd is an average PG and Haywood blows. 4 of the 5 best players in the series are Lakers. If Lakers win this series, it doesn't mean Kobe > Dirk

    Dirk > Kobe
