i wouldn't be surprised if his teammates now tank the games just to see him lose another opportunity at a ring

man it reminds me of the end of the kobe & shaq era - just can't get over himself - imagine how many more rings could have the won had they stayed together, even with the rise of the mighty spurs

lol 1 loss against dallas and cryhavoc trying to tear down 5 rings. good .
the best part is him trying to belittle the Mavericks when his team just lost to a in 8th seed
I'll take my four rings that are free of whining/ ing/complaining about having the most talented highest paid team in the league.

$91,000,000 isn't enough for Kobe to think he's got a good team.

29 teams finish in 2nd. Getting past the first round doesn't mean a thing if you get knocked out in the next round.

TRANSLATION: What do you expect with teammates like THIS?!!!!

As if Kobe doesnt have the most talented supporting cast in the league.

Switch Kobe with Dirk. Can you imagine the Lakers with Dirk instead of Kobe?
Can you imagine ONE... I say ONE championship parade in Phoenix?

Yeah, his teammates are def. gonna tank the games just to spite Kobe, the guy who can get anyone traded away from the Lakers he wants to. I'm sure that's it.

And it's common vernacular to refer to one's favorite team as "theirs", and adopt their accomplishments. A bit of reflected glory, but it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out, considering every fanbase on the planet uses that kind of statement informally.

Artest might lose it. Pau could fade into even more of a shadow of his former self. Everyone else will play hard. Both teams will play hard.

Bynum should be. How is it that Kobe is complaining about his bench when the best player from last series got an avg of 2 shots per quarter this game?
Were you there? Were you watching as Bynum was often the last guuy down the floor. Were you watching Haywood push him around. Drew lacked aggression from the begining. I saw at lewast two passes Kobe made to Drew who just tossed crap up because he was to lazy to get position. Drew had a bad game. Kobe did not.

Kobe had zero assists last night...ZERO! That loss had everything to do with him. What a stick.
Of course those 8 or so passes to wide open Artest, Pau, and Drew never happened I guess. Funny thing about assists that the friggen player wide open needs to make the shot no? You stat s crack me up. Kobe mad a few mistakes last night with turnovers etc but other than that he played a great all around game including passing to the open shooter. What he said in the Times was spot on even if you pussies think its too harsh.

Funny thing is, the players and staff all agree with him and have said so. Go figure.

I still expect the Lakers to win this series. That's not what it's about. It's about Kobe's team having a payroll of 91,000,000 and then whining continuously about how "woe is me". First he's "injured". Now this loss has nothing to do with him, despite ringing up the big 0fer in the assist department. Kobe tries to be the greatest of all-time and he's not even a good leader. That's the hilarity here.

Yes, because as we all know, when a teammate is hitting a rough patch or having trouble getting into a rhythm, completely denying him the ball is a great way to get him involved in the offense.

What does payroll have to do with anything? You do know that $55 million of that $91 million is all in 3 players. When that happens, you have to build a supporting cast of relatively cheap players. And regardless, I don't see why a player can't call out his teammates. Sure he's a and a ass for it, but I don't get why you're trying to make a connection with the payroll. He's a jerk for the comments. Doesn't matter how much the Lakers payroll is.

You do know that Dallas has a payroll over $90 million too, right?

Yep. It's his fault that Kobe isn't passing to him.

Why is it that Jordan never had this problem? Or Bird? Why is it just Kobe?
You obviously never watched MJ then.

If you want to call the next 8 guys on the roster who average $4.5 mil a piece cheap, sure.

And regardless, I don't see why a player can't call out his teammates. Sure he's a and a ass for it, but I don't get why you're trying to make a connection with the payroll.
Because his teammates are massively talented.

    A fair point.

And when I hear Dirk about how much his teammates suck, I'll say the same thing about him that I am now about Kobe. But that won't happen, because only someone with the ego of Kobe would think himself as being above his teammates.

Ever notice its often the fans of teams with ZERO les that have issues with the "we" that comes with the fan and the franchise association? Lamest argument on the board. Nothing but sour grapes.

As the t- s that the franchise is giving out at 1st games of series say:

It's "my" life. It's "my" Lakers.

According to all the losers here... I guess they should have said "It's my life. It's Buss's Lakers"
