There is no way this decision would not be second-guessed, so just do whatever you want. If he released the photos he would be accused of rubbing salt in the wounds of Muslims who don't want to see a picture of a guy with his eye shot out. Conspiracy theorists would always deny it or say it looked 'su ious' anyway.
If he doesn't release the photos, there will people saying the fact that he didn't release them fails to prove that he is dead. It is a no-win.
