Dirk is the best shooting forward of all-time. Now a real power forward is Karl Malone. Now that's how you man up that position.
dirk is a great player. he just suffered like lebron. while his teammates were definitely more talented than lebron's cavs, they were mentally weak. dirk did his best to carry them but, like lebron, ultimately failed. now that cuban finally got tyson chandler, see how dramatic a difference he makes. tyson is a good center but hardly a legitimate second option. dirk still has no legitimate second option, all he needed was his teammates to be mentally tough. he has always been a top 5 player since 2005.

The ring is the greatest factor. There are others, but without winning a ring, players are severely handicapped in terms of legacy. MJ without a ring is Lebron.

This. Outside of Duncan (who lets be honest won half of his championships with him at C and Horry at PF in the 4th quarter), PF is filled with guys who could never get over the hump as their team's #1 option (Barkley, Malone, Dirk, etc.).
Normally I consider stretch a giant homer, but 1 championship won by Dirk with his pissball supporting cast IMO puts him ahead of all power forwards not named Duncan, for no reason other than he doesn't have stiff compe ion.
I like Dirk and have even argued with others on here about how good he really is to continue carrying this team. But it's hard to consider him in even the top 3 because of his inability to play both ends of the floor. I absolutely despise KG, but there's no way I take Dirk over KG in this argument. Malone didn't play much defense, but he was hard nosed and physical. And even Malone looks good defensively next to dirk.
