http://www.cbssports.com/nba/story/1...cal-for-lakersOf the teams Howard is likely to consider when exercising his early-termination option after next season -- sources say the Lakers, Knicks and Nets are the strong favorites -- L.A. is the one with the most attractive trade assets. The massive contracts attached to the Lakers' most desirable players also puts them in the rare position of being able to absorb either Arenas or Turkoglu as a way to soften the blow for Orlando.
"Everybody knows that Dwight Howard wants to be a Laker," said a person familiar with the All-Star center's plans. "They're going to lose Dwight Howard for nothing. He's not staying there. Dwight Howard is going to be in the same mode as LeBron James."
He'll be a Knick or a Net

you need to realize somehing here. Financially he's set. It's not about the money for him. There is no glamour or allure to N.J. or even N.Y. The west coast has always been the "in" place to go and he knows it.
The Lakers will make a push for him no doubt.
Luke is actually an expiring contract, so he is going to be wanted.
Dwight at PF and Drew at Center.
He wont be Knicks or nets.
Nets make less sense to me ...that would akin to choosing Clips over Lakers ...

Lakers would have to trade for him unless Dwight wants to take a nice pay cut![]()
Yep, that is being worked out as we speak ...![]()
Point is, Orlando has a lot more power than people think.
Sure they do. So did the cavs. And the Nuggs.
he wants the glamour, but do ppl actually watch him on tv?
Don't forget the Suns!
The nuggets got everything they wanted and then some. MIA had cap space to sign Bron to a max deal without anyone's help.
LA can't sign Dwight to a max contract because they don't have the cap space.
Huge difference. Come on Killa, you slippin'...
Cubby are you preparing yourself for the The Skunker (2011 remix)?
Yes, I'm preparing for the skunker.
I invented The Skunker. And I'll defend that property with every fiber of my being.
If CBa stays the same, you are correct. never argued that. CBA changes and Dwight still wants to leave max deal may NOT be as bad as you think. Yes we will need to trade genius, regardless but if max contracts are less (new CBA) then that lessens the Magic's leverage unless the players give the owners a "franchise tag" ...but I doubt that.
You never brought up any of those points until I said it
You clearly tried to related the Cavs situation to Orlando's which I refuted with facts. I am just trying to have a legit convo genius.
LOL @ unknown source trying to put a gun to Magic's head
Here's my thinking with the Magic: It's a franchise that has drafted Howard, Shaq and Webber in the past 20 years.
Unless your getting Bynum & Odom, why do the trade? Your just gonna be compe ive which means useless mid range draft picks. Magic will be stuck in mediocrity forever
INSTEAD you let Howard walk, he takes a PR hit like LeBron did, you tank for a year and get a franchise player instead of 2 role players
And given the Magic front office comments. I think they agree with me
The logic of LA trading with them is sound. LA is (on the surface) one of the few teams that have young assets to get a deal done (especially if Bynum could stay healthy). But Orlando doesn't have a gun to their head.
Why the do these players even consider the Nets?
What's there that's so great?
They have absolutely no start power other then Deron Williams. The rest are fodders.
They don't. It's just Media helping Stern out.
